yesterday i was in my buddies 2008.5 MS3. We were driving across the bridge from halifax to dartmouth, and a red roush mustang was just ahead of us. At first we just thought it was a kitted GT, and got closer.
At the lights after the tolls, we did a little flyby and the MS3's BOV went off right at the mustangs window. We cruised toward the highway hoping this mustang would follow. My window down, i hear this whine coming up the street from behind us. Sure enough, mustang. Im thinking...that isn't an ordinary GT. It get's ahead again, and then i noticed the roush badges.
Oh [shizzle] son! Get on the highway...
3rd gear runs... mustang barely pulls, if at all. Ms3 gets to 200 and cuts, as does the stang. We do this for a good ammount of time and playing leap-frog. the guy in the stang looks over and gives a wave. But hard to see his full impression through his darker tint.
These weren't (unfortunatly) side by side runs. One was ahead of the other, but played "tag" so to speak. very dangerous... but we were very curious.
Anyways... the roush didn't pull on the MS3 at all from 115-200 km/h. You could hear him getting on the throttle. We get back to a computer and check out the stats of the roush. The S/C versions that we saw for that body style (2007ish) was 430hp and 400 tq... there were other roush stangs that had 300, but no SC. This was DEFINATLY SCed...
Part of me thinks he was playing around and feathering the gas, but it sounded like WOT. Needless to say, even if it WAS a mustang GT not SC'd, the speed 3 did well, and i was impressed!! definatly a GREAT top end car (highway runs).
If it COULD get it's power down in 1-2 gears and have all of it's power used, it would have much better 1/4 mile times..
i was impressed
