Mx6 turbo vs wrx

I raced my friends wrx this sunday he has a 3 inch turbo back exhaust intake boost controller also some program were he can tune his computer not sure what one though , he also tuned it to run on cam2 fuel that night. Well we were both in 5th going down Ry 40 in maryland we down shifted to 3rd and went from ther each time we raced i pulled on it from 1/2 to 1 car not much but i did every time we were all suprised.

My car is a 1988 mazda mx6 turbo 5 speed with 155,000 miles
i have no ac no ps
thunderbird wheel with honed out stock housing
intake
no cat no muffler , well have 3 inch turboback from je importperformance this week =)
intake spacers
i have a chip but i forget the name
walbro 190 pump 440 cc supra injecters aeromotive fpr with fuel rail
aem wideband so i can kind of tune it not much though at idle realy lean but whem its in boost is right arounf 11.5 to 12 so at least ther fuel when it matters
i run around 15 to 20 psi the i loss boost it well go up to 20 psi in 3rd but drop back down to 15psi i still need to figure that one out i cant fine any leaks idk

Ill take some pics of my car but i figured i let you guys no about my car any help on the boost problem would be great.

i just installed a tbird today actually. Makes a difference compared to stock turbo. Im running 14 psi on stock setup and its running great.

Whatever.

Your running the stock turbo with the thunderbird cold side swap and you can run 20psi safely? maybe i should get on that. What would be better to do that or get the actual thunderbird turbo?

the reason for it being is that the compressor housing and wheel are slightly bigger allowing more airflow. I will eventually buy some supporting mods and an a/f gauge (wideband) to run higher boost.

Keep us updated on your car!! im interested to hear what happens!

Whatever.

No you can't. 16psi is about as much as I would push the Tbird for reliability. Anything above that is just really hot air that the intercooler can't work with.

you're not understanding...the tbird turbo can't handle and wasn't made to push more than 16psi reliably. If you do, you will considerably shorten the life of your turbo.
