well im going to our local 1/8th mile strip tonight. I might run but im not sure. My clutch is slipping but it might be a good time for me to get some practice in before i get the good clutch in. If i dont race ill watch my friends 450hp STI run at least haha. I do wanna see what times i can run with the tbird at 15psi.
I turned up my boost seriously a half a psi and my car somehow just opened up a [shizzle] load of power? It makes no sense at all. It feels ALOT quicker for some reason.......
alright, i had my friend drive my car for me because i didnt have a helmet. He drove it pretty damn good i would say. and keep in mind MY CLUTCH WAS SLIPPING HORRIBLY in 1st 2nd and 3rd gear.....
2nd Run:
Reaction : 0.0890
60 FT : 2.2810
330FT : 6.2551
ET @ 594FT : 8.8487
1/8 ET : 9.4128
1/8 mph : 79.78
i was shocked my car ran a 9.4 with how bad the clutch was slipping. Its so bad it slips whenever i try to boost all on the street or highway while driving. My friend said i should have no problem breaking into 8's when my clutch is done. I have the time slips but im too lazy to upload them.
i could have.....but i never ran at the track and wanted to see if there was going to be alot of torque steer. Im going to try to get my new clutch in this week, drive a [shizzle] load everyday and break it in by friday night.
i went to the track tonight and i raced for the first time at the track ever. I managed two 9.6 runs (1/8th mile dont forget) and a bunch of low to mid 10's. I need to practice my launches because i spun through first second and half of third on all the 10 second passes. Even if i got traction my clutch still slipped pretty bad. I figure i beat the hell out of my slipping clutch before i put my new one in while i get the hang of running there.
heres a quick vid. Not my best time of the day. This was a 9.7 @ 79 mph. My best time of the day was a 9.64 @ 81mph. I need to get some slicks and i feel i can get a high 8 second pass since i break loose in every gear haha.
