I have nothing against signature pictures, but I dont want the sigs taking up too much space. So the rule would be a sig pic of a specific size OR text, not both.

Another forum I'm on allows basically whatever you want in your sig, people put big ass pictures and text and all kinds of crap, at 40 posts per page, it made pages way too long to scroll though, I just ended up turning sigs off. Limiting the picture size would be the perfect solution to that.

Sounds like a great idea. How about limiting the size of img to be the same heights as 4 lines of text being that 4 lines is supposed to be the current limit.

On a side note I've found that some people here are getting by the limit by using post quotes. There's one or two that have 6-8 line sigs and that's getting pretty annoying.

You are not the only one, but yes, your signature violates our length restrictions. Quotes (with a single line quoted) take up the space of about 4 lines of normal text. With spacing you can typically only have one quote and one line of text outside the quote to remain with in the rules.

BTW, the rule is designed to allow you to take up space that exists anyway due to the height of the identity section (username, avatar, title, specs, etc). We just dotn want lots of large signs adding a lot to the overall height of a thread. Especially since they are repeated with each post by a user.
