Subscription expiring question

Is an email sent given ample warning before a subscription expires? If not, How can I make sure that my subscription stays current without waiting for it to expire to find out that I need to renew it?

^ They used to have animated gifs, but I think it was me that changed that perminantly, as I had an avatar of this bombshell asian chick with these scrumptious titties giggling.... but I was given more then a few infraction points for that, and afterwards, no more Gif's would work
