its a 323 based vehicle. thats why we have the mx6/626/mazda6 boards.

though if i remember there was a 323 site that had mx3/323/mazda3 boards.

edit: disregard my comments, i just noticed we have a 323 general.

yes we did. And actually, the 323 has little in common with the MX3. The MX3 had the KL engine on it, and only come in production in late 1992-1993. The 323, however, was the first small saloon that mazda brought to the USA IIRC, in the early 80's. Im not very in touch with the 323 history, I know it came in a hatch and saloon models, and it carried the 1.8 and 1.6 engines on it. I liek the hatches, those are nice, and dropping a F2T on those is full win.

The 323 is more of a protege than a MX3.

At 1st i hated the appearance of the mx-3. But you can't help but to be amazed at the way they perform on the track. They also look pretty good with lip kits and bigger wheels

if you are looking for an mx-3 site, I was regularly on Welcome To MX-3.com - Your Complete Source On The Mazda MX-3 when I drove one (prior to the mx6). Lots off good info, pretty much my main resource for information during the whole turbo process. kinda makes me miss the lil 3 just talkin bout it

The MX3 is technicaly not a B chassis car but is still heavily based on the 1st gen protege and same era 323.

In other words lots of parts will interchange and some MX3 parts can even be concidered upgrades to lesser 323s and proteges.

i know mx3 parts can be used to swap motors and such in the ford escort. hell, the whole interior swaps into the escort. (... dont quote me on this. i remember at least seats, carpet, and center console swap.)

I never knew the escort and mx-3 were related or had anything in common.

ford escort is a mazda 323 with a crappy ford engine (unless you have the escort gt, then you get a mazda engine too)

no, 90-96. any they are rather easy to make pretty quick. find a mercury capri XR2, they came with the same 135hp turbo engine as the 323 GTX, drop that in the escort. then put on a larger exhaust, better intake and intercooler and you're set.

i read on the escort forums that these three mods will give u the output of the 200hp 323 GTR motor, which is uber hard to get a hold of. and 200hp in a car that can be strippd down to 2000lbs, i'll take one. I plan on doing this in the near future
