What side of town did you end up in? I'm not too far out of town in Boulder City. There are a few 6er's in Vegas but not too many.

boulder city isn't too far from vegas, I'd say ~20 min south in the 95. It's a cool place to go when u just wanna get away from vegas

LOL you'll get used to it, me and my gf drive to Cali so much the desert in between doesn't really bother us anymore, it's become like a drive down the street for us. There's plenty to do here besides gamble. We like to go hiking and rock scrambling at red rock canyon sometimes, which isn't a bad drive either hehe.

oh hell yeah... i dont like to gamble... but becuase i live here i am going to have to do it some time... lol.... but i always lose...

thats pretty sweet about the activities... i got to snow board and rock climb and go camping in colorado... and i kinda missed it... the mountains were only about 10 mins from town....

we should get together some time and do something.... dont know if my girl would climb rocks... but she likes the out doors...

Yeah, don't gamble, that's for the tourists. BTW, Boulder City is the only town in Nevada where gambling isn't legal.

Vegas is kinda cool because there is all sorts of stuff to do. You can go skiing and snowboarding in Brianhead, Utah which isn't too far away. Park City, UT is a further drive but is worth it. I ride quads and there are sand dunes all around the desert we go to. There is hiking in Red Rock, Mt Charleston, and Zion which is just over the state line in UT. There's plenty of lakes along the Colorado River to boat and fish on. At least you got here at the nicest part of the year. The summers are hot and the winters can get cold here. It even snows in Vegas sometimes.

LOL funny u mention hiking and red rock cuz we just went up turtlehead peak (~4000 ft) yesterday. Even though I'm sore and mildly scraped, it was well worth it.

2.5 mi with a 2,000 ft elevation gain. if u have the opportunity to do it, i say go for it ! it comes with an awesome view, u can see a part of either lake mead or lake las vegas, i'm not quite sure which but u can definitely see across the entire valley.

lol colorado is mountain climbing and hiking heaven, i've seen some pics from rocky mountain np and glacier np it looks awesome. i'm with u on the oxygen though, being that we're from an even lower elevation (L.A.), we got a little winded during the last stretch up to the peak LOL but if u can tackle 14,000 ft. thenk 6,000 ft. above sea level is nothing
