Yes, winter beater...mmm...Now that it's getting closer to summer I think about driving the nice car...then I realize I can still drive the beater and not put miles on the nice car
Easy for you to say, I've got three to choose from. And that doesn't include the murono on the weekends.

Nobody has to tell me to drive my baby, I would have been driving it already (during the nice weather) if Alita had been registered. I'm hoping to rectify that before the end of the month; I'm becoming neurotic thinking about driving her!
Ryan should just cut the crap and trailer Carmen everywhere

If your just looking for another car to keep yours in "show" condition, then you can just buy my MX6. $3800, all the fun you could even dream about in a car. And then you could have near twins!
That would be cool, but 1. would it pass emissions and 2. would it last as a daily driver. But dont get me wrong my dream is to have a turboed car.

Yes, it passed emissions last year. OBDII just requires for the engine light to not be on, and no stored codes. I just had to throw the MAF back on, clear the code, and drive around a little bit.
And as far as a dailer driver goes, as long as you have a backup, I'd trust it. Any modified car is more prone to small problems. It's not going to give you very good MPG. I only get about 19, but I also can't resist boost.

Bill, stored codes are ok, as long as the CEL isn't on. But, if you have any systems that are 'NOT READY' as in they haven't done the self tests yet, that will also cause a car to fail
I saw the article/report on the wreck, and read some of the comments people put... holy fsck, there are some stupid people on the internet.
From what I've read/seen of the pictures, the pontiac was turning left and the civic was going straight through when the light was turning yellow. Both tried to make it, and both failed. Had the civic been going slower it would have had to stop at the light, but if the pontiac had waited just a second longer or not assumed that the civic would stop, then the civic would have passed.
Ok, I passed this accident right after it happened on the way from school today. While I'm sure he was speeding, KSL always sees a tuner car and makes it their fault.
First off .. he went through a green light .... the Pontiac was turning left across traffic and didn't juudge enough time. Second, the strip right before that intersection is mandatory stop only about 150 yards .... so assuming he was WOT from the line, he'd only be going like 65mph. The speed limit is 45 and everyone does 55+! No idea how these "witnesses" said he was going 70mph. I mean if you saw a head on collision @ 50mph .. so collision would be so intense you'd probably think it was going like 100mph!
So take it however you want. Sounds like a combination of two bad driver errors, not one.
KSL is sooo biased. "Police say there is no evidence the car was racing another, but it appears the driver is no stranger to street racing and was flying down the road." Ryan, had you wrecked in yor MX6, I bet they'd say the same thing about you because you have modified suspension and strut braces!
On another note, that roll cage really held that car together .... unfortunately he wasn't wearing his seatbelt! Now that's an idiot!
Yeah, too bad the jackass removed his airbag...check the steering wheel...it's collapsed but the column is intact...no doubt that broke every rib in his chest!!
And I would doubt he was doing only 55mph...look at the car, it's completely collapsed!
But I definitely agree 'eyewitnesses' accounts of speed are crap...subject to too many variables.
I was saying he was prolly doing like 65mph ... and my point was that it's like a 6 lane Bangerter Highway type road. People do that speed all the time ... so it's not like he was some bolt of lightning flying down the road. grandma prolly does the same speed.
I see what you're saying.. Even I'm quick to condemn the ricer driver when it is definitely a shared fault situation. And perhaps he is being unfairly targeted. But he does have a reputation:
that same kid had a baby blue civic he with a t3 turbo and nos, he wrecked it too, a good friend of mine his buddy built that hatch it was the silver one at rmr last year that ran 10 sec then that dumbass bought it and drove it like a jack ass and it caught up with him again, figured he would learn from the first one
Something else interesting, did you know that in this state, if you are involved in an accident while making a left turn that you are automatically ticketed? Happened to my boss's wife. She had a green turn arrow other guy ran the red light hit her and she gets a ticket for improper lookout or some bull shiz!!!
The motor suddenly dying, and having no compression...Head gaskets don't usually spontaneously blow out causing such a situation...the symptoms and the way they occured would seem to be more indicative of a lost timing belt.
