Shipping is probably around $180, if it comes form Cali.
In my opinion, if your replacing the engine already, get the ZE. But I have a garage to tinker with the problems you'll run into with doing a ZE swap. It is not just a drop in and go. You'll need a diffrent Disty, that sometimes doesn't come with the engine.
It may be better to for you to go the KLDE stock swap route do to your conditions. It will be quicker, easier, and less problems. If your looking to get it going sooner than latter reliably.
But, Ryan can fill you in more, he is more experienced with the ZE stuff.

Nice to see you found us.

Time may not be quite as important as i previously imagined. I should have a place to mess with the car. I'm not so concerned about difficulty, I did a full engine\drivetrain swap in my 88 rx7 alone twice... I'd like to hear about some of the pitfalls you've come across Ryan. Its not my only means of transportation so working out bugs isnt really a big deal either. I know i may need a dist. Some reason somebody has taken off the one that came in my engine. The car needs some other cosmetic things, but just getting it running is my primary concern. I'm really leaning towards the ZE.

Wow, so you purchased a car with no disty, and a seized engine?? Damn. The disty's alone for the KLDE engine will be nearly $200.00.
While we're waiting for Ryan to chime in, tell us more about you and the car.

Well the car was abondoned. The previous owner had the car since 95. We've contacted her since finding the car and she will sign whatever she needs to sign over ownership. She had the car until 2002 and the engine went out and she gave the car to her nephew. He apparently dumped it. To get it driveable it appears to need an engine and a windshield. I'm not sure i would have been even interested in the car but the day before i bought my first car (6 years ago), i test drove both a mx-6 ls and a probe gt. I loved the mx6 and this one is the same color and besides not being leather is exactly the same, besides the condition.

Ryan:
update! the head is shipping out today and will be here next week, wed or thurs. the company with the block is in process of moving, but will be able to ship next week. they are located in washington state, so shipping should only be a couple days. I figure I should start cracking on whatever I can do without the engine out...I figured I could pull the exhaust manifold off and turbo so I can get ready to swap w/ my ported ones, and pull the IM off, clean it out, maybe a small porting job if I can find someone or pay someone a bit of cash to do it...but a question w/ the IM...what kinda wiring is on that? vacuum hoses? anything I should leave plugged in? or is it ok to yank that thing out? I'm guessing I will probably have to take out all the turbo pipes as well to get the engine out?

oh by the way, this is the pic of the block...I've been trying to figure out with people on performanceprobe if this is a gl or gt block, or rather if it has gl or gt compression?

hopefully it will let me post the pic...anyway, it's fully rebuilt, but the guy bought it from another company that did it, so he doesn't know all the specs. i think it looks like GT pistons from what I've seen of monoxide's pistons...

Well, $160 for the Windsheild, $180 or so for the Disty, and $600-$1200 for a new engine. I guess if you got the car for next to nothing, your still ahead of the game.

Proposal for you. I've got a block in my garage that has a spun bearing or two. The lower end can be rebuilt with new bearings and should be good. However the heads are junk because the bearing material is part of the head. If your heads are good, your welcome to the block I have in my garage. You can still turn it over, but it was run out of oil.

swooshman, YOu can run the ZE off everything you've got now. Just get an Autozone Disty for $150 and it will run fine of the stock computer.

You won't have a full 200 hp, more like 180, but with the KLZE computer and JE-50 VAF from the JDM MX6 you'll have a full 200. But the better option is honestly MegaSquirt...For the same price as the KLZE ECU and VAF you can have a standalone fuel management system, much more suited to furture upgrades, especially like forced induction.

Otherwise it's a direct drop in...no other modification required.

Zach, don't take any vacuum lines off the IM, leave it as a whole...It's a rats nest to put it all back together. As for the porting...Meh, if you want to...but honestly your money is better spent elsewhere like the turbo...at least for now.

Ryan, I need a flywheel. Brian needs me to ship it out to him ASAP. Let me know if I can come pick it up or not. Thanks.

Oh, you could call my cell phone if you want. That would probably be better considering that I just moved and my home phone won't be on until Friday. 801-792-4909

Nick, I'll see if I've got one at the house tonight. If I don't I'll have to find one in storage tomorrow.
