Sticky machanics thread?

I think it'd be a good idea to sticky a list of good mechanics people know... seeing texas is so big, it'll obviously have to be categorized, but yeah. Cause right now, my car is making me mad and the dealership wants too much money.

The Colony?!? I'd never give mechanic tips to someone who lives in such a weird place! Man I miss the old high school days swimming with those kids.

Seriously though, posting if you know good mechanics or exhaust/audio/etc. shops would be a good reference to have for all of us Texas kids.

Want to swap in a KLZE in Dallas?? Go to Advanced Auto in Denton, just North. They did my swap and now know that engine back to front. For muffler work north of Dallas, go to Hercules Mufflers in Denton, they'll do anything you want, and I mean anything, for CHEAP!!

For the Austinites.......most of these are south of the river.

General repair-
Coleman Automotive-the only mechanic I will use.

Exhaust-
Leonards Garage is suppose to be great for cars(mustangs and similar). They suck for 4x4's..... But the Mazda isn't that.

Cooling repair-
City radiator. good for repairs and cleaning of radiators.

KLZE swap eh? How much was their labor? I've been wanting to go for one, but the idea of doing it myself just hurt my head. I think I'll go hit up the Hercules place with my next paycheck. Thx a bunch.

in the dallas area... avoid Jotech for mod work b/c they won't work on our cars.

Austin kids... there is a place called Protech I believe. Great place to go for mod work on the KL motor. They use to own a 11sec turbo Probe back in the day. Now Justin (one of the owners) has a 10sec white stock-looking Supra.

If you want good exhaust work done there is a guy in College Station who does stuff for cheap!!! Welded my exhaust system on for $25. Can't remember his name, but I know where he lives... if you want directions (he works from home) pm me and I'll give em to ya.

If you have the Money. Bod said he can do what ever work we need. Call him. "Yes" he is Kenny Trans engine guy. Kenny personally does'nt work on Mazda's, but Bob does.

My Highschool Govt. teacher used to work for Bob Norewood, but left on bad terms. He says the guy is incredible with engines. knows exactly how to make it perform, kinda pricey though.

Ric at www.racingmazda.com did the Mini Monster Miata. He's really good with our engines. Anything you want. I'm talking to him about building me a custom Turbo setup with intercooler etc.
