My friend, all I can say is - GOOD LUCK! I haven't heard of or seen a professional / good bodyshop anywhere in the UK. I'm sure there are some, but they probably charge the earth, and are stored in a bank vault due to their rarity.

Ben.

I use these guys

Melton Accident Repair Centre

The fact they have had several magazine cover cars based on bodywork/paint speaks for itself.

Its a big bonus that I know the owner and get "mates rate" tho. Shame its about 200 miles for you tho Dave.

As a guide, I asked Mark how much to de-badge front and rear, respray the sunroof panel, paint the rear quarter where theres laquer peel and paint a complete replacement front bumper as mines stuffed. He said "£400" and I thought that was pretty good.

Grin

I think that the day of the reasonably priced one man business is numbered in and around London.

My guy decided to throw the towel in 3-4 years back and work for someone else. He resprayed the whole boot and the complete right hand side of John's old MX6 for around £250.00 all in.

I had a quote from my local Mazda dealer's bodyshop as follows after the dent on the boot.

To strip Trim and Fittings, Remove Badges. Repair Dent in Boot Lid. Prepare and Spray Repaired Panel in Metallic Colour. Assemble as original.

Paint & Sundries as required £ 75.00
Labour Total £ 210.00
E.P.A Charge/Disposal Charges £ 1.50
Sub Total £ 286.50
VAT @ 15% £ 42 .97

TOTAL £ 329.47

A joke eh ????

On Monday this firm run by Ryan Shakespeare called fixadent.co.uk paintless dent removal sussex surrey kent hampshire south east and mobile car dent repair pdr - Home came round and repaired the dent for £70.00 inc VAT ( another firm quoted me £75.00 plus VAT.) I had already touched it in and compounded the excess paint down and now the dent has totally gone and you can hardly see where it's touched in.

I recommend him very highly ....

Oh yes, the dealer also quoted as follows for the rear spoiler/brakelight that Windy sold to me recently.

To strip Trim and Fittings. Prepare and Spray New Rear Spolier. Assemble as original.

Paint and Sundries as required £ 75.00
Labour Total £ 157.50
E.P.A Charge/Disposal Charges £ 1.50
Sub Total £ 234.00
VAT @ 15% £ 35.10

TOTAL £ 269.10

Ackkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk !!!!!!!!!

It's down to Halfords to get paint and lacquer plus Masking Tape me thinks ....

Afterall I repainted all of my four wheels 3 years ago and that was much harder.

PS. I'll take some fotos at the weekend of the completed dent repair and also show you Ryan working on the Mazda last Monday.

The dealer's quote was not far short of what BaBaKa is worth now

Tried that sort of dent repair lot already, went to chipsaway as had a dent done by them before. Unfortunately they can't take on the rust repair work i need done. Shame as they are very competative when it comes to accident bumps and scratches.
