Turbos... Superchargers!!! Where are all these mad ideas comming from???

Mines a J-Spec with a 200BHP engine normally asperated!!!

The only person on this forum with any sort of Forced Induction is Mark and he has a progressive NOS setup. There is someone looking at fitting a turbo in the UK but I cant remember who.

As for mine. Well id love a Supercharger or a Turbo or even Twin Turbos but the cost would be huge!!!

Kyle

BTW I have one extra advantage with handling. 4ws!!!

could not have put it better myself, spoon in a bowl of jelly is spot on and thats while it is still setting!! ha ha ha

will come to miss the VW quality build i had from my Seat as it was excellent, well finished and very sturdy!

The RS is as they say very fast and flimsy!! still love the car to bits, i suppose i have the speed now but not the quality!!

oh well i am happy with it as i am sure all you guys are with ur cars, each to their own!

Fair to say that the same upgrades on each car, pretty much proves that the RS wins out on standard form and also when modified!
Since when has fitting a Turbo to a Noramally asperated V6 such as ours produced 0 BHP!!! Hmmm think I will let john give you the figures but all I will say is there is a Twin Turbo Kit out there giving our little V6 550BHP!!!

Thanks Kyle.. wondered when someone was going to mention the turbo setups for the Mazda...

There is a guy in the states, with a turbo on his Mazda MX-6, who is just getting a steady 5.0s 0 - 60 and sub 10s 1/4 mile.. tops out at about 175mph... can't remember the site it was on.

couldn't care less what you did to an RS, it wouldn't catch it, even if it was stood still.... RS not got enough CC's under the bonnet.

yes unfortunately there is only so much you can squeeze out of the 1.6 enigne before reliability or power restrictions start to come in

best way is to buy a 1.8 head and bore it out to a 1.9, with cams, flowed head etc. then you can be seeing over 300BHP quite easily

but still the 1.6 head is good for about 240BHP but thats all i would want to push it too

anyway i am not dissing mazda's they are very nice cars and they do go pretty well having been in my mates car and he has killed quite a few other "Supposedly" faster cars so full respect to the Mazda MX6

Just creating a bit of light hearted banter on here, nothing to be taken seriously please as i am doing this all in the name of fun!

did not realise it would create something as long as this!

anyway, see you lads around, hopefully at one of the next meets and put some faces to names

Cheers

Yes its a Jap import and no i dont mean 4 wheel drive i mean 4 wheel steer as all 4 wheels turn which reduces the amount of front end understeer a hell of a lot. I find it very very difficult to loose it unless its wet and im running crap tyres and standard suspension (at the moment need time to fit the shocks and springs).

LOL lads,

Tone told ya you would cause a stir!

Em i think the only way to resolve the issue is at a meetup like trax or japfest down a strip and who goes quickest wins!btw my g/f dad said he is up for coming to an event in his marcos mentula any one fancy taking it on? Mark your need more than one nos to beat that mate LOL he is kicking out 300bhp+ and is lighter than a lotus elise and takes a ferrari to the cleaners

Ah and there is me with my auto 6 chugging along!! tone me and you will have to find a nice stretch of road and boot it down there and c what the actual difference is! you will beat me coz of my auto but could be interesting! my current wins off the lights are against a brand new MR2 and a brand new toyota celica!

Hmmm had 2 autos but never driven one. Always had a manual. My current 6 was an auto but i manual converted it before i even drove it.

Still recon you have a half decent chance against the RS even with the auto box especially when you take him on a dual caridgway cause he will run out of puff quicker than you.

ive just returned from my hoilday to see how much bigger this post has got! good idea about meeting up at trax, i get my mate to do bring my old series 1 down, and were see what will win ... rs turbo hands down and on high boost no chance. just a bit of light hearted banter .

Has the mx6 got a lsd diff? just wondering as rs turbos have them fitted as standard so less wheel spin on take off which helps a lot to put power down straight to the wheels without wheel spin

Could anyone tell me how the j spec runs different compressions, ie.. different pistons, heads or what?

I hear that the quickest car at trax was a Nova that did 0-60 in about 3 seconds.. I bet all the ferrari drivers weren't thinking that they must have a nova just 'cause it's faster!
