Has the mx6 got a lsd diff? just wondering as rs turbos have them fitted as standard so less wheel spin on take off which helps a lot to put power down straight to the wheels without wheel spin

Could anyone tell me how the j spec runs different compressions, ie.. different pistons, heads or what?
LSD as standard, did not know that, would explain why it is so quick off the lights then ha ha ha!!

i tell ya, going from a N/A engine to Forced induction is nice when it is cool outside as the cold air really helps, but i was driving about on Sat and the heat outside was really effecting the car! i mean like the turbo was kicking in but was pulling terribly. Dam this hot weather!!

i do miss that instant power i had in my Seat GTI, get annoyed with the lag, its like put my foot down, wait, wait then it goes!

oh well, once i get it chipped, intercooler, water spray etc. Bye bye MX6 ha ha ha!!

Stuey, i think i might get the quicker start, but top end it will run out of puff! in fact even on that start you might get off quicker than me as i have to wait for the turbo to kick in! which means you will already be ahead and i will be playing catch up which i dont think i will catch up!

would like to try it out as my car is standard and then when it is chipped as a comparison try it again, i think that would be quite a good experiment!

Cheers

Tony

LSD's were fitted to J-Spec mx6's as an option but its dam near impossible to find one especially as most j-specs you see are autos.

Tony once youve had it chipped, big intercooler, etc you see a massive difference, mine was running close on 200 bhp totally mad, compared to when it was standard, you want to get 2 stage boost as well, say 150bhp on low boost and 200bhp on high boost makes the engine last longer. Also get it all set up properly. Got a decent rs turbo engine if your intrested (1.8 zvh turbo)

Insurance was a lot cheaper on the mx6 compared to the rs so i sold it and brought an mx6 instead

Hi mate, thx alot for the info. Going to Power engineering this Thurs for a full service and cambelt change. Going to talk to them about what can be done etc and what i want to do.

Have only heard good things from this company and hear they are almost the daddies of modifying RST's. I cant wait.

Where do all of you guys go to get work done on your MX6's? like turbo conversions, supercharging all the way down to Induction kits and exhausts fitted etc?

Tony, do some 1/4 sprints then get some stuff done like chips and the likes and then run again. This is probably the best real world way of testing your modifications.

I am thinking of adding Mark 626GT to my ignore list

You ****!!

Well lets just say the fuel gauge is very tempramental. It goes up and down more times than a Hooker does on a Saturday night! It was above the red level yesterday, then this morning of course I did not even look as I thought it would be ok, then on the way to work it just dipped completely, so I thought I had fuel when the gauge was reading completely wrong!! Just like my original fiesta!!!

I guess I am use to drving my seat round and you could drive that all the way to the red line. I remember the guy saying to me now, the one who I bought it off, he said don’t drive it to the red line otherwise you will run out of petrol, I did not listen, and it is true what he said, how much of a prat did I feel!! Oh well, I suppose this is the nautre of old cars!!

Was so glad it was the fuel!! And not the cambelt or the turbo or something really expensive! Thank god! Phew!!

dodgy is not the word mate, but its good driving an old car as it makes you respect how good modern day cars really are!!

the Ibiza was supremely better in build quality, finish etc.

well bring on next march so i can pick up my Ibiza 20VT, yeah baby, chip that and that will be putting out 220BHP which works out to be 196BHP/Tonne which is fecking quick!!

will give a majority of normal road going cars a good run for their money if it does not waste them already!!

no i am pretty much done with modifying cars these days, just want something fast as standard and have the oppurtunity to modify it if i want, hence getting a 1.8Turbo. easily tunable and plenty of power to be gained without spending too much money.

roll on next year so i can get one!!
