As a mate of mine owns a Mazda MX6 and he surfs these forums, thought i would come on here and see what it is all about!
Well i own an Escort RS, had a few races some MX6's, well no contest really, my RS won pretty easily but then i have got the weight advantage of course!
no really i am not turning this into a "my car is faster than your car" type thread, just seeing what these forums are like, look pretty cool so far.
oh and my friend on here stays anonymous unless he wants to name himslef of course!!
anyway, i might be cmoning down to the Southampton meet on the 26th Ocotber with him anyway, just to check out the range of Mazda's as they are nice cars, and defnintely my mates car looks really nice, sweet as a nut!
have not seen many others that look as good and as in mint condition as his!!
Cheers
Ps. See you Mazda boys at the lights! ha ha ha ha!!@-

Hi Tony.. welcome to the board.. everyone here is really friendly, so if you ever fancy upgrading to a 6 then here's your place to start.
Don't think you can really compare the two cars.. the MX6 is much more of a sports tourer whereas the RS has a rally background. Anyway, enjoy the boards and see what you find..
More legroom, wider wheels, more MPG, much better cornering on the ground...........sorry!
Welcome, cousin-of-Zoom-zoom!
You will soon see from looking on here and on the Probe websites the general brand and build quality differences between Ford & Mazda....bear in mind, to compare an RS with the MX-6 could easily be turned into comparing an RX-7 to a Scorpio! @-

next you will be telling me that the Mazdas come with a pipe and slippers holder in the car and a little hook to hang the flat cap on! ha ha ha jk of course!
well i am more into my hot hatch and always have been
dont get me wrong i love Stueys Mazda, its like driving in a big comfy armchair and i always fall asleep in it in long journeys or when i am pissed out of my head! so it is a nice car
I used to own a Seat Ibiza GTI which is very good quality basically it is a golf with a different shell on it, but selling due to debts etc. and of course wanting a turbo and a cheaper car the RS fits my category perfectly
dont take any of my banter seriously guys, just was seeing if anyone was going to take the bait, dam it, i falied! lol!!
anyway, will be on here from time to time, give you slipper and pipe smoking boys some jip just to liven it up!
catch ya later!!

...............you dont stop laughing because you grow old, ..you grow old because you stop laughing.....
A few points though ( without biting the bait ... ) According to Parkers the MX6 and Escort RS have the same 0-60 times which means its probably down to the driver....
Other advantages a standard escort RS isnt a pretty sight, has a ford badge on it and rusts & depreciates like there no tommorow. Where as the MX6 looks pretty good in most peoples eyes, doesnt have a blue badge, doesnt depreciate and doesnt rust ...
Hehe - Also the RS was fords "sports" car where as the MX was always a sports tourer - I like simons comment compare it to an RX7 ;-)
At the end of the day its each to his own thats why we get such a great choice of cars....
Now if you had a Sierra Cosworth then id be giving you some kudos - theyve always had a sweet spot in my eyes..
The other reason the forum is generally freindly is the lack of boy ricers .... im yet to find an Escort RS driver that doesnt wear a baseball cap ... oh a question ive always wanted ansering ... Does the young blonde in the passenger seat come with the car :-)
From what I read, the Escort RS Turbo is 128mph top speed, and 0-60 in 8.2 secs.. not quite up to the MX-6 at all.
seems about right, cos I smoked one a few years ago quite easy... surprised myself and left me with a big grin on my face.. at the next lights, and looking in the mirror, this phil mitchell lookalike was doing his nut behind me.

ive just sold my rs turbo and brought a mx6, and to be fair a rs turbo would kill a mx6, there completely different types of cars, the mx6 is more refined, where the rs is more of a real hot hatch. Dont get me wrong the mx6 is a great car and excels in many things the rs dosent, but performance it dosent
