Shes Been Dyno'd
Well my little mx-3 KLZE got its first dyno this morning, not as much as i was hoping for but i knew it would be low as it runs the complete 1.8 V6 exhaust system.
The guy said the engine is running richer that Richard Brandson!!, the best way to make a massive amount of bhp is to finish the exhast and get a tunable piggy pack system to tune the air/fuel mixture. Dude - I need some help. Im using your engine as a model for getting a KLZE done myself - Any chance you can drop me an email describing the process you used to rebuild and tune your engine? Also, where you got the bits from and where you got the work done. I am in the black hole of tuning support that is the midlands you see. Looking forward to hearing from you. Ben. |

sorry for the late reply; i had a bit of fun with car this morning and then I was on diy decking duties in the garden
Parallex i send you some details of what i have and where i got it. But you should find most of the info from mx6.com i would have thought. yeah rash the numbers are a bit low, but it deffinately doesnt feel it. It definately pulls way better than the original 1.8 lump. Ive got a dyno sheet of a 1.8 V6 with performance exhaust and that only made 103.6 bhp at the wheels and 127ftlbs torque. So im 40 bhp up anyhow. In a way im kinda glad because it keeps me interested in the car, and i cant wait to see how it performs with even more ponies !!. Fastest ive edited the dyno graph to make it larger, i couldnt film any closer for safety reasons. There are some good close ups of the engine on my car domain page, or click on the video then click on the top right numbers to scan through my photobucket album There is now 3 ze mx-3s in the Uk theres me on the south east, theres one in Falmouth ( soon to be ze turbo !! ) and theres the 1st guy who did the conversion up in scotland somewhere. From emails ive got from a couple of other guys there is another 2 ze mx-3 planned also. Im not going to use the megasquirt. The guys local to me http://www.cplracing.co.uk are going to use a honda based ecu system ( forget the damm chips name now !!) it is compatible for the mx6 because he showed me the wiring set up plans as provided by the manufacturer. then they can tune it and set it up on their dyno also. The price is still TBA. The guys their i found are also uk dealers for; Quaife & CM clutchmasters clutch and flywheels if any of you guys in the uk are interested. Im pretty sure piper cams local to me would also play with the cams, but im a long way away from that yet !!. I would have thought the vris points were set right as im using a kl36 ecu, but after talking to rasheedn im sold on the megasquirt front, in fact im gonna pinch it from his mx6 when hes backs turned at japfest
