Nice weather for ducks

Well here's a pic of the weather in Hull

As you can see, it's taken from within my car... that had decided it didn't like swimming.

I got the car towed home... but it doesn't look good... water definately got somewhere it shouldn't. Electrics seem fine (lights etc) but nothing from the engine. Zip.. nadda.

Gonna give the weather a bit of time to settle down then get it towed to my mates garage

Oh I hope it's not terminal!!

In our street the same downpipe is shared by the roofs of four houses, unfortunately when this blocked up, the water travelled to the lowest point and overflowed. This just happened to be right above our front door.
Although I like waterfalls, I prefer not to have them in our front room!

To make matters worse, I've just got back today and the six has a flat tyre, I've only had it on a month!
Still raining, so going to get wet taking the wheel off!

Got the wheel off, and managed to get some air into it, but the hub side tyre wall is all bulgy and horrible!

Russ you dont have a CAI on do you?

Probably the best thing to do is stick the engine in a large oven with the cap off the front rocker cover. Boil the water off so to speak.

Good luck mate.

Well.. the car is dead.

Looks like a rod has bent or something like.. the engine is siezed.

Don't know what I'm going to do with it as yet. 1st priority is get the black one running so I can at least drive about.
Once that's done I can start to consider the options for the silver one.

I'm gutted... she's a great car and one of the best 6's I've driven.

That's really bad news Russ and I hope it's an incorrect diagnosis.

When you say the engine has siezed did you try turning it over by hand or the starter motor and was that with the plugs in or out?

Tried starting it on starter motor.. plugs in and out... nothing.
Then tried pushing the car while in gear... wouldn't budge.
Def stuck in a not very good way

It could just be hyrdolocked. That can happen and not have damaged anything too badly. It would be a case of heads off and slegde hammer time though.
