First waxing of the New Year...

The car, not me!!!

Gave it a thorough wash (x5), real chamois, then onto the wax.

A quicker than usual wax job, but still not too shabby!

Those FDs are a LOT easier to wash and clean up than our stockers!!!

I demand pics without shrubbery in the way. Looks too nice to be obstructed. =(

Thanks for the compliment!

Shame the camera on my iphone is so poor, and double shame I was too lazy to go and get my decent camera!

Ah, the shrubbery, well there's a reason for that. Being brought up on a diet of Monty Python movies, their film "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" explains why a shrubbery is absolutely vital!

Ni!

Looks good simon.

Can you tell me a bit about your intake trumpet at the front and how it's set up? I assume it vents to a CAI?

Elmer

Was gonna point you there, sorry I took so long!

Yes, I did notice a difference in performance on fitting this pipe, but had a scary moment on the motorway last month when I hit a wall of standing water at 90 in torrential rain (BTW, everyone buy Silblade wipers - they're literally unbelievably good!), and the engine made nasty noises...

Most of the bits for my intakes came from a Pipercross Viper kit, apart from the filter itself and ancillaries.

The silver one comes out thru a hole in the plastic just ahead of the nearside wheel. The trumpet is mounted on a foot and a bit-long heavy-duty rubber sleeve that was a pain, literally, to squeeze through the D-shaped gap to the nearside of the radiator. Then, it's got the up-pipe sitting freely within it.

Pics! Pics!

I am just about to do mine.

Why didn't you use the sealed viper filter?

Car looks good.

Hi, and thanks.

The best pics so far where you can see the setup are here (65mm throttle body swap).

I didn't go for the Viper because a) the Viper wasn't out when I went induction, and b) the price of Vipers is just stupid - STUPID, for what you get.

Final point, with a low-level filter, if you drive through deep enough water, you'll suck it up into the engine, and also get a wet filter. With my setup, the pipes may get a bit wet, but even if the ends of both feeds are completely underwater, the induction kit will still draw dry air from the engine bay. If it gets much deeper than that, your problems will be with the exhaust, or electrical.
