I was fascinated when I chatted to one of the guys on the stand. I told him that my MX 6 was a far superior car when I first filled her with the Tesco fuel.
And it's cheaper too .... ZOOM .... ZOOM .... ZOOM ....
Just had this reply from my friend John when I sent him the link to this post.

Interesting and, like your MX6, it made a big difference to mine. However, I've tried it in the Jaguar and it doesn't seem to make any discernable difference to either the performance or the economy.......but then I don't drive like you do!!!!!
I replied:
LOL !!!!!
Well you know what they say about Jaguar Drivers ...... Don't you .......
so tesco premium is better than all the others?
I use shell standard at the mo, would I see an improvement if I started using premium? or is it only cars with engine mods that see the big improvements?
When I first bought my MX 6, I used ordinary Unleaded 95 RON and then changed to either Shell or Sainsbury's higher octane fuel.
Then I put some Tesco 99 RON in the tank and the difference was very noticeable.
My 1990 Rover Metro GTI 16v SPI also runs better.
Oh yes, my MX 6 is bog standard.

Only noticed a slight increase in fuel economey personally, which i think is leveled out by the extra cost. So for me I sometimes treat my car and sometimes not. No noticable difference in performance as far as I'm concerned.
Tesco's have their own fuel refinery, so produce their own fuels, however, the 99 ron may come from an external source as Paula says.

just treated my mx6 to shell v-power cos it was running rough, now it is running even worse, stuttering from cold which was ok with ordinary fuel, only had problems once it had warmed up.
Plus the independants who have some production capability, but mostly in blending, which is really just moving product between tanks, in order to achieve the desired result.

When I was chatting to the guy on the stand at the NEC, he said that Tesco 99RON Super Unleaded is definitely made by Greenergy.
