Well ive sold my sporty car so im also selling my Bel Euro 550 Radar and laser detector. ( Does not work through heated screen or heat reflective screens :-( which my new car has - hence the sale )
Its simply the best detector:
Press Comments:
"As far as manufacturers are concerned, our tests revealed one clear winner. Eagle-eyed Beltronics BEL swept the board by taking the top four spots." Auto Express – October 2000.
"The Beltronics Bel Target Euro 330 and 550 radar / laser detectors are developments of the 980 and 990 models which cleaned up in our previous test (issue 015). We’ve seen nothing to change our recommendation this time around. Both are designed specifically for use in the UK (and Europe in the case of the Beltronics Bel Target Euro 550 radar / laser detector) and work extremely well. The Beltronics Bel Target Euro 550 radar / laser detector performed marginally better with Gatso, and its settings can be changed country by country. These features warrant the extra money over the Beltronics Bel Target Euro 330 radar / laser detector, but both are a good buy." EVO Magazine – May 2001
Its boxed, complete with carry case, 2 leads, window and sunvisor mounts and instructions.
Why wait until you get caught !

There are no plans to ban detectors. They are perfectly legal and will ramin so, it has been proven in a court of law that they only recieve a signal and therefor do not warrent any form of unlawful activity. Unless "you" are making new laws ( for which you would have to ban radios aswell ) then your information is incorrect.
I researched this long and hard befor I invested in one and was it not for my heat reflecive screen id still be using it.
But I suppose they could make their use or sale illegal...
It's not illegal to have a radio that will receive Police frequencies - but I do believe it is illegal to use one?
Sorry G.. only came out in the news a few days ago...
something about affecting the police doing thier duty... or something like that.. before it was to do with receiving frequencies...
I don't think it will happen as there will be too much uproar.
and I remember when they had all this up in court before... they did used to be illegal to use, but not to own one... this was overturned in court, and since then, it has been legal to own and use a detector...

At present, they are totally legal in the UK... this is just something the government is pondering over.
