Free Steering Rack

I have a MX6 steering rack to give away. Basically got it for £60 from a salvage company and it came with a 30 day warranty (which has obviously expired) Basically don't need it after all - the one on my 6 is just fine - and I'm moving house soon. Don't fancy lugging it all the way up to Peterborough. Was on the verge of just dumping it but feel it's such a shame seeing as they cost £900 or more new?!

Anyway, whoever wants it, come and get it. I don't have the space to store it where I'm going. I stay in Hampstead (London) at the moment next to the Royal Free Hospital and I work in Hackney. Either places should be fine for a pick up. No charge, just don't want to waste what seems to be a decent spare part. (I'll leave it to more mechanically minded people to actually verify it though!) First come, first served

I know! But I just ain't gonna have space where I'm going. Be a shame to waste it. Also have a pair of new but really crappy and slow roller blades if anyone's interested :P

My fault really.. I meant to say for someone else to collect and store it..

Thanks for the rack, from whoever gets to use it.

Thanks Nelson. Will go through my annual moving house emotional breakdown in a bit. Will hire a van methinks. The 6 is a gorgeous animal but not suited for this sort of operation. See you up there once I recover!

Ouch! Sorry to hear about that - that sort of thing is always painful. Richard (Blue 6) has taken it for storage so best if you get hold of him to see if he still has it. Think carefully about using a second hand one though cause the labour is so expensive, sometimes it might be worth getting a new part. Didn't have to make that final decision myself though, thankfully. Good luck!

Yep Guys i still have the rack. I'm just waiting to hear from Wolf_funk as he did enquire some time ago. As Adrian says its secondhand and hasn't been tested and labour is expensive to replace this. i was going to look into getting in checked out, my local mechanic know someone who can overhaul it. It looks the same as mine, but unless someone has some info on the part numbers (and where i can find it on the rack) i can't confirm.
I don't want to put a downer on it, just don't want anyone to find its the wrong part.
So when i hear from wolf i'll get back to you.
It will need collecting/ postage from the South London (Croydon area)
