J4PMX For Sale!

Yes you heard it right!

Firstly, yes, she is still soldering on and without any major dramas, I've been looking after her, spending ££ where required...

For those newbies, I suggest you search as this is a car thats been on this board for quite some time.. and she has a very interesting history.

A unique MX6!

Quick run down:

UK Spec L Reg MX6 2.5 V6
150k miles (so just run in then!)

Bad bits, lets get them out the way 1st.

Bodywork.
One of the most unique qualities of this MX-6 is the factory fitted TWR body kit, these cannot be bought for love nor money.. (unless you buy mine!) Understated, but slighly agressive a great body kit which makes this MX-6 Look amazing!

BUT, when I purchased the car there were two cracks in the rear bumper, over time these have split somewhat, its not a show stopper, but the rear bumper is not pretty. If you good with fibre I'm sure you have it sorted easy!

Minor scuff to rear drivers side wheel arch. Nice person in carpark did this. Nothing major at all, just needs a quick blow over.

The rest of the bodywork is as expected for this age of car, few trolly dings here but nothing bad at all.

Other than that there are no major bodywork issues.

Wheels.

She sits on a great set of 17" BBS Hockenhiems, they are lovely looking wheels but they could do with being re-furbed. Not expensive, still scrubs up ok, but I'm being honest here!

Inside

Drivers seat shows wear as expected of a car of this age. but passenger and rear are really very good condition. I have fitted a boot solenoid, this is currently disconnected as I have remove the rear interior to fit a stereo system, this can be left as is to save you the hassle or I will re-fit, choice is yours, but if you do wish to fit audio, let me say getting it all out is not an easy job!

Good bits (there are lots!)

TWR Body Kit
j-spec rear spoiler
17" BBS Hockenhiems
Manifold back Long life stainless steel exhuast with sports cat (£500)
Tokico 5 way adjustable sports suspension and springs (£650)
ATX replaced 20k miles ago (£500+) and going GREAT!
Sparkco front and rear strut braces
Cold Air Induction
Drilled n groved front discs, grooved rear
Braided brake hoses
Stainless steel kick plates
Two tone red and grey factory fitted leather interior
Real wood dash and detailing (it works trust me!)
Fully working COLD A/C
Clifford Imob and Alarm with remote start and boot opening
Toyo Proxies all round (less that 6months old!)
Genunie Mazda fitted matts (£50)

Lastly private plate which, those who know, know.

J4P MX!

SWEET!

I also have folding mirrors to be fitted and painted.

I've probably forgotten stuff I always do, I've spent a lot of money getting this car where it is, all it really needs being honest is a little cosmetic work and she will be a really beauty.

Just serviced
Just MOT'd taxed till end of Feb 08

I have a STACK of bills for all the work I have had done and the previous owners.

Also have drivers manual in original binder, Mazda Mx-6 brochure, Mazda Mx-6 promo sales VHS.

I'd really like her to go to an enthusiast.. rather than just anyone. I've had my fun LOTS of it.. but its time to pass that on.

I have had quotes for dealer for the number plate in excess of £750!

So, price.

I think its best if you contact me and we talk money, rather than post on here.

I've an idea and it NOT stupid money..

If you want photos there should be plenty on here, or I can email them to you.

Any questions let me know.

Big HELLO to all the folks here who know me and know the car..

This time its serious..

I have new wheels...

PS..I'd hate to split that plate and the car, they are one and the same!

Hi, I can't make it out either. There are a few nice 6's for sale at the moment - Jamo's J, Pauls E and yours but no one seems interested.
If this happened a few months ago I wouldnt know which way to turn but I got myself sorted, but I still can't believe there is so little interest in these 'show' quality cars!
Best of luck

Mark

Hi Tim..

Yes, as Mark says, there were a few people looking for cars a while ago, but most have now got sorted..

With a few being for sale at the moment, and the time of year (just after Xmas) it's not a good selling time...

It might help if you put an asking price, or at least an "offers around" so potential buyers have some idea what ballpark you are in..

hey!

A REPLY!

suppose your right, time wise not the best for some.. but for me I have no choice I must sell and I have to put the ££ toward my new car!

As for a price.. well I really don't know exactly... considering all the extras.. then it should be LOTS! but I know that just doesn't work!

Looking on Autotrader, they seem to go for £1500-£2500.

So, as mine is VERY unique and has THAT plate..

I'll say £2200 ono

And see!

Pick up new car on the 28th.. CAN'T WAIT!!!

I just looked on Autotrader myself...

they range from £500 - £2500 (97 with very low miles)

A 93 model with your mileage comes in there at around £700... ( a trade one at £995)
There is also a 95 model with similar mileage at £850 (trade again)

Bear in mind a dealer has to give a warranty, usually 3 months.. hence the higher prices, as well as profit margins..

lets say for argument, a base price of £700.. then add on for your nice bits..
Very rare bodykit... suspension... exhaust... Alloys... spoiler... custom leather... and the reg plate.. I haven't included the rest as yet..

My reckoning is at least a grands worth, so lets say at least £1700 if you agree with me so far... and that is with the reg plate valued at £300 (not true value, just a figure I used... hence the MINIMUM value of £1700.

If you say the plate is worth £750, then that's £2150, round it up to £2200 if you like, then you have a margin of £500... and the middle ground is £1950... that would be my guess on what it is worth as an average..

Hey mate... good to see you about again... although not the circumstances of your visit

Good luck with the sale but these cars just don't fetch the price you're looking for at the moment.

I know she's a rare specimen, as was my TWR (who has thankfully gone to a good home.. Cheers Mark ) and I think using Johns workings the £1700 is probably about the top end you'll get for her.

I know mine had issues but she had the list of bits etc yours has (only std leather not custom), no private plate, was a manual and had a nice fresh custom paint job... I got £1300 for her.

Hold out for what you can/need but don't set your hopes too high. Unless you find an enthusiast who knows what they are getting, the extras just wont pull in the extra you are wanting.

Sorry to hear she's going tho... so what's replacing her???

Ah well, no response at all. shame. Tomorrow is her last drive.. from there she will be on a sorn and left till someone buys. Should be up on ebay early next week if you fancy seeing how much she goes for.

End of an interesting and fun time, met some cool people on the way (and some that were not so cool!) enjoy your cars folks.. she still puts a smile on my face every day.

Hi all.

I've been watching this thread

It would appear our cars don't grab the buyers interest nowadays. OMG what a shame.

I'm sorry to see the only other TWR kitted 6, that I know of, being sold. With such a rare body kit I cringe to think of it being sorn'd and not driven.

Elmer
