Funds are a bit shallow at the moment but if you can find a bit of space for the interior, gear knob & gator and lights we'll see what we can do

Ok ... bar is off ... the end two nuts made the housing spin so just ripped it out.. you can spray them up and free them easy enough now its off the bumper.

Its 123cm long so ok for post office standard parcels... not sure on the weight so could be 4.80 or 6.85 .. just throw me an offer on the bar, and we can sort out the final payment when i have sent it and know the postage cost.

She's Gone .......

Well the time came... and why do they have to turn up at bloody 8.30 in the morning ! .... and Rosie was dragged from her perch of 4 axle stands, 2 of which are now junk. She saw good times and served me well, before secuming to the dreaded rot.

taken just before Japfest 2005, and the start of the modifications, she had just come back from the bodyshop after getting some scratches etc removed and a good mopping. We had already owned her for 2 years at this point.

This was my first attempt at the engine bay.. i spent days cleaning it, in chucks of a couple of hours a day, it was filthy and had never been touched before. I remember seaching high and low for the enamel on the rockers covers to get a match on the bodywork colour. The CAI must have been about 4 months old in this pic, as were the Magnecors.

Over the next 10 months, i set about sourcing ZE parts for a hybrid build. Cams, heads, inlet, ECU, VAF and throttle body were required. The Inlet and cams i bought and had shipped from the States. The ECU and VAF i bought from Rasheed on here. I did manage to get hold of some Heads, but i did not have the time or money to change them at the time. Outlaw spacers were obtained for me to use to port match the ZE inlet to the DE heads, and half a day woth the dremmel sorted that out. And so .. one week before japfest 2006, i tore it apart and set about putting the ZE parts on. 3 days later, i started the car with all its new parts, and it ran like [shizzle]e .. smoking, farting and cooking my inlet manifold. After checking and setting the timning belt a further 2 times, it was no better. Further investigation revealed a very very hot no.6 inlet manifold branch, and i mean it was hot.. stuck or dropped valve ? cam timing out ? either way.. it all had to come off again .. and this is what i found ..

Some weeks before i had obtained some HLA's from another head, took them apart, soaked and cleaned them and re-assembled ready for the hybrid fit. This one took exception and spat out its dummy, destroyed and jamming no.6 inlet valve slightly open, this was the cause of the hot inlet for sure, and hopefully the smoking and bad runing. So once again i put it all back to together, and she fired.. and sounded great. 5 days in total, belt removal and fitting 5 times, i became quite proficient at it and the last time only took me 2 hours. So hybrid sorted, the Scorpion exhaust and decat were already on, the Tokico's were on. She was ready for japfest 2006.... just.

A quick spruce up by means of a overspray on the rockers again and injectors, plus a couple other items had her looking like this for japfest 2006.

By this time, there was not much more to be done.. Alloys were screaming at me, there were a couple of niggles in the engine bay, i needed a ZE IAC for the TB. The Cruise control actuator was removed from the engine bay as it was rubbing on the CAI elbow. HID's were fitted. And the home spray enamel on the rocker covers was starting to look very shabby. I tried to get somebody local to powder coat the rocker covers.. no one was interested. SO i contacted someone i had kept an eye on in the states that did them, and so i sent a set off.. and they returned looking fantastic... only problem being.. they were so clean, they made everything around it look dirty and untidy .. so off came the distributor, fuel rails, anything that i could unbolt and clean and spray was removed. Alloys were sourced and fitted and an IAC for the TB had been found.
The end result was this for Japfest 2007, and Rosie's last showing..

And now, some months on from starting the part out.. she ended up looking like this, and loaded onto a flatbed ready to be taken and re-cycled.

So its time to bring this thread to an end... over 1700 views.

She served me well, breaking down only once, due to an O2 sensor having its wires burnt through and shorting out, blowing the ENG INJ Fuse.
It was my first time in the club scene and the modding arena, and its been a great journey so far. Just like to thank all those for their support and assistance over the years, and its what makes me so determined to help others here at mx6.com , Rosie may be gone .. but you hav'nt got rid of me yet ...
