UPDATE

It looks like there will be a good get together Saturday as we start breaking the car. A lot of parts have been asked for so are marked as provisionally sold. People attending so far are

The Mexican
Gerry
Clivjoo
JayJ
A guy from Ebay

Gerry is having the sills, mirrors, brake light and wants a look at the wheels
Clivjoo is picking up his Noble Green boot lid and may want other bits n bobs
JsyJ is having the headlights, Fogs and some aircon parts and may also have the wheels
The guy from Ebay is collecting a DE throttle body and Dave the Mexican is just interested in a day out with us and maybe a few odds n sods.

Should be a good day as the weather looks ok.

Then Sunday we have a guy from the Isle of Wight coming up for the engine. He only wants the engine itself, no gearbox, ecu etc. as he's put a DE in his MX3 but found that its a bag of nails that smokes and rattles so he might do a rebuild with a DE/ZE hybrid.

All other parts are available, including the suspension, interior etc so shout if you want/need anything.

I recon this could qualify for the first ever WINDY-FEST

Seriously, I would like first look at the suspension, but will be away until the 6th June.

How much lower is it?

Price?

I'm not sure how low it is mate but it looks like a 35mm drop to me. I'll take a pic of it when its removed so you can have a look but if you say yes I would like payment asap as 2 other people are interested in it but you have 1st dibs.

Price wise, you would have to make an offer. Obviously I know what suspension/springs etc are worth so please no kicks in the nuts.

Should be removing it Sunday so will post pics after that.

Ok mate

was only going to offer around £50 tops, so as I am away tomorrow, I will bow out, and see where you are in 2 weeks.

35mm may be to low with 18" anyway.

Hi Nasher

18"s are fine with a 35mm drop.

Remember the overall diameter of the wheel + tyre doesn't change if you put the correct profile tyre on. It'll be the same diameter as any other wheel 16s 17s or whatever.

£50!

I paid that for 2 standard front shocks and springs then another £50 for the rears.

If no-one buys it, i'll fit it to mine or swap it for other parts.

Yea, but this is a gamble, you bought a scrapper for a few quid, and have no knowledge of the car. If you paid £100 for four new standard shocks / springs you had a real deal, if you paid £100 for four 2nd hand shocks you were done mate.

£55 max.

see you when I get back from Mallorca.

think i'll pass.

Dont know if you've looked around but the shocks and springs for these arent cheap. Every breaker I tried wanted more than £30 a corner for 2nd hand. KYB shocks in probe store are over £400 a set and STANDARD springs are £200 a set.

Elmer is about right with selling the springs only for £50 if they are used but I reckon the Mazdaspeed ones are worth a bit more and if the shocks are gas filled KYB's they arent cheap.

Tempted to fit them to mine TBH.

Thanks for the stuff today Paul, very much appreciated. Took mi flippin ages to get home because of the stupid arse sat nav. ended up in nottingham before getting onto the M1, and that wa s after farting about making "sharp rights" and "u turns" on dual carriageways. I am going to stop using it.

BUT, it was a nice drive out, great roads down there, but far too many specs.

Going to fit the boot tomorrow, and that little pockety thingy I might have also discovered why my stereo is so poo-when i set off, the passeneger speaker came on, then off, then on again etc..so i may have a dodgy connection....

Nice to meet you both any, but you know what? I didnt get the other guys name! Hoep you seell all the parts fella, take it easy!

I FIXED MY CAR-WE FIXED MY CAR!!
