I asked politely what the asking price was and got this reply.
Hi if I had to say I would say £950 I have obviously put up for auction for the best price I can get hence no buy it now but if you want it straight away I can add abuy it now.
thanks
I then explained that I thought the price was a tad optimistic based on age/mileage/not mot/tax etc and sent a link to the auction from our car yesterday. Then I got this reply.
WELL WHY ASK?I HAVE PUT IT UP FOR AUCTION THAT IS THE WHOLE POINT SO IT WILL FIND ITS OWN LEVEL -THIS IS EBAY WHY ASK FOR A PRICE IF YOU HAVE YOUR OWN IDEAS? THERE IS A RED ONE ON EBAY NOW SAME YEAR FOR £1300 running so i think your figures a little out- it depends on the bidders at the time-so why not bid??I cant understand the aversion to bothering to bid!
Shame, the car looks ok but the seller might be in for a bit of a shock.

[color="Yellow"]I've taken people's money, without delivering goods. I've lied about it, too! DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH ME!
Am I being stupid or is there no eBay link Windy?
Or do you not want us to see it and make a horrible mistake?

No probs, hadn't seen this before I posted. With an attitude like that (though I can agree with it finding it's own level, he's a bit optimistic at £950 BIN) he won't sell it to anyone that wants a BIN. Unless of course the questioner isn't as knowledgeable about MX-6's as most of us here, something he'll bank on unfortunately
Hehe, I assumed as much. Optimistic yes, even from what little I know!
It will find its own level yes, but unfairly it seems as you said, relying on fleecing some poor innocent like me

seems to me he is relying on people going mad bidding, i dont think he realises that this simply wont happen with this car, nice as it is it simply isnt worth that much money market wise. nI understand where hes coming from with his reply, but hey, "chill out mate, he only asked!"
Yeah, looks like it doesn't it?
Aside from his inaccurate market valuation, it's just not going to be that popular - unlike us lot here with taste - especially on eBay.
Chill indeed!
