Toying with the idea of a different car, so i'm asking for some advice on mine, price etc...
Its a J-spec 2.5 lt, done around 80k only had it 10months, so not sure if the cam belt has been done but i've pulled back the cam belt cover and can still see the writing on it clear as day and i've been told my my local mechanic this is a good sign of its been changed since it was new. The body work does need some touching up in places, there is some scuffs on the rear left wheel arch and a slight dent on the same wing, and a scuff on the passenger door, some stonechips in the front bumper, but nothing too bad (see pics). I also took the badge off the bonnet but haven't had time to spray it i have just touched it in. Depending on how long i have the car for i would probably end up doing this.
Since owning it i have added:
Stainless manifold
Stainless cat back
17" Wolfrace alloys
EBC Yellow Stuff pads (which are amazing!)
Cai
Lsi side pods and front splitter
Full cream leather (usual wear on drivers seat)
Alpine i-pod compatable head unit with MTX tweeters and mids and 15" sub and JBL 6 channel amp.
Changed gearbox remote links (but first and second are still a bit sticky)
Two CV boots (not split ones)
Changed the gearbox oil a week ago
Gave it a full service two weeks ago
Stainless door sills
Can't think of anthing else at the moment as i just want peoples opinion. What you think its worth etc.
Similar in spec to the one I had Chris, apart from a few bits here and there. Ballpark I would say between £1200-£1500 is what you should be looking to get, based on condition and the work you've put in to it.

I was drooling the entire time I was reading that, the only thing it's missing is a sunroof (due to it being a j-spec). I absolutely love the interior, cream leather is my favourite.
If I had the money to spare and wasn't 21 years old (doubt I could insure it, modified AND import) I'd want that.
Good luck if you do decide to sell it.
dammit, i'd love that jspec....i just simply cannot afford it right now due to some financial problems. I am always looking out for a jspec, but unfotunatly i dont have any money saved up to spare (if i bought another car, instead of a holiday, the other half would not be pleased) BUT i wish you good luck man, it looks a wicked motor that does, sell it right, and you should easily get what Paul suggests...
Since almost every countries economy is on the rise you'd be better off waiting either way since more jobs are forming etc. Might be able to get a tad more out of her.
1996 M-Edition-SS Sills, JSpec Headlights, Black Interior Conversion, Right Hand Drive Conversion on the way.
JL Customizing - I don't know what you've heard, but in my opinion the world economy is going to take another serious hit soon. Things are far from on the rise. Sounds to me like you have been watching too much MSNBC. The American government is force feeding its population verbal diarrhoea about the 'world economy' to try and make you all spend more.
Truust me when I say - don't believe it, the worst is yet to come.
U-pol car body filler, When i spray it i'm going to weld the holes up as it won't last! But it has so far. But i would want to go through spraying it up and then have to do it again cos the filler has cracked.
I don't know if there is a metal filler of some sort that can be used as an alternative?
I looked at it and it looks like a pain in the chuffer to get anything in behind the holes so I might get my mate to have a go at welding it and see what happens.

welding is the best way to do it
i done mine not too long ago and i welded mine up just get the weld quite thick and then gring it down and smoothe with body filler
had to do the same with the spoiler holes and the badges on the boot
Slightly off topic, but along the same lines - how "standard" are the spoiler holes (e.g. to fit aftermarket spoilers) ?
1997 Mazda MX-6 2.5 V6 - UK GT Spec in Noble Green II w/198k miles (yes, really!)
Mods: Pioneer DEH-P80MP headunit, internal Blaupunkt aerial, Mazdaspeed decals, sunstrip and tax disc holder, black leather Momo Corse gearknob and Richbrook gear gaiter, polished silver Richbrook gear sleeve, clear side indicator lenses and some blue interior LEDs
See pics on MX6.com and CarDomain
you will more than likly have to get the holes filled there isnt any spoiler that i know that will just fit direct on to the boot with the standard holes
