Saw this 6 on ebay and recognised it straight away. This was Sue and Mikes and was a cherished car so hopefully its been kept that way and will find a good new owner. Heres the thread when Mike sold it
Holy crap, I think they're from very near me as Richtoy Motorsport is in Winterton which is the next village along from me!! Plus, they're in North Lincolnshire and I don't know of another Richtoy here.
What happend to these guys? i assume they don't come on here anymore, what did they decide to sell?
Hmmm, I bought mine for just under £2k at the beginning of 2007...should've saved my money and bought that one then!
Shame I haven't got the same again to spend now

The last owner ran out of paper and used the side of the car to write his shopping list!! And the new wheels don't look as good as the ones from before. I really like the colour though.
Hehe, not a fan of door decal stacks then Rob?
When I do mine (sorry!) it'll be old shopping lists of presents for my 6. Just trying to decide on what order to put them in: Alphabetical (anal!), Biographical, Audio one side and mods the other...any suggestions?
I'm not a fan of the wheels either...can't quite put my finger on it but I think the colour, black, is ok, it's just they look a little small with that polished rim. Was gonna go for black/gun-metal or white so I'm still trying to decide...

My opinion is that they only look good if you have actual sponsors, otherwise it seems a bit wannabe. The next step is tou get your name on the side ilke Rally drivers. e.g. R.Szynal
But then car modification is about personal taste so even if you want to Ricer it up with no performance mods and loads of heavy bodykits and audio to slow it down that's up to you
I think you can guess that I'll never have lists on mine unless I'm paid to do so. I think sponsorship looks cool if all the performance mods are done. There's an older celica in white I often see with logos up the side and it kind of suits that 'in your face' kind of car. The mx6 is more subtle, it's a gentlemans car. lol
Yeah I never thought of that. Except which Joe Public is going to be sponsored by anyone?!
It's also a good way of showing off the money you've lavished on your pride and joy, without having to tell every Tom, Dick and Harry the same thing. I don't think it has to be in your face if it's done tastefully. A crappy bodykit and rude-boy exhaust is much worse than that I think. And I for one am not going anywhere near either of those; are you saying I'm not a gentleman?
Dunno about the bodykit - when I can afford it I guess - but who said anything about no performance mods? And I gotta have my choons!

Right, to drag this thread kicking and screaming back on track, I'm getting confused.
I asked the seller this:
Dear sweet-baby-sleep,
Hi,
When exactly does the tax and MOT run out? (I can see 2009 and
2010 respectively, but which months).
Also, what "special edition" is this, or is it a custom paint job?
Many thanks,
Nick
- nickgs
...to which I received this reply:
Dear nickgs,
No, it's not a custom paint job. When i bought it i was told it was a special edition model, that's all i know im afraid. NOt many like this about though!
- sweet-baby-sleep
Didn't Sue and Mike do that paint job themselves? Or is the person this guy bought it from (not Sue/Mike) telling porkies?
Still, at least he's finally admitted when the MOT and tax run out!

It's not a special edition, nor is it an original paint job - they did do it, and they did it well. I do wish people wouldn't bullshizzle each other about cars. But when they sold it on, it was a damn nice car.
Yeah, thought as much. I don't know whether it's the current seller telling porkies or honestly relaying the information he was given, but I'll send him another msg on eBay to try and put the record straight...
Still is by the looks of things, although not quite as nice now for the reasons mentioned.
