My 94 J-Spec breaking
Well, its all gone pear shaped with engine swap so i'm cutting my loss's and bolting through the door. Its been a great car but the new engine arrived and took 3 weeks to be put in and its goosed. Biggest top end rattle i've heard. SO unfair.
So i'm breaking the car and thought i'd post here in case anyone needs bits before i do anything else. I'm very negotiable.
There is a brand new clutch and timing belt also apart from rest of car.
Its a silver one. Everything worked before it went in for engine change.
So let me know if anyone wants any parts from her.

could get one yes, but more labour and its sctually on its 4th engine since coming to the uk in 99. an unlucky one its would seem. funny thing is the engine that came out wasn't as damaged as we first thought. could of been put right for about 500. shame, now its too late as been sitting out for too long
Sorry to hear this mate, but are you sure it's not the HLA's gone pear shaped then?

pour a couple of cans of engine flush in... run it for 15 - 20 minutes, then change oil and filter. see if that helps.

If you do end up breaking the car...im after a couple things..
1) If you have a front lip on the car..I want first dibs..if not ..oh well
2) If its lowered may be interested in the springs
3) If the J-spec headlights fit a UK spec may be interested in those.

had oil change before went in.. do you think that would help, the engine flush? the noise is something horrific. never heard it before as the previous engine up until cam belt went was silky smooth and noise free.
car is pretty much immaculate which is why its such a shame, already spent a fortune on new clutch, cam belt, bla bla plus loads of labour. nightmare. just thinking about cutting my loss's for now and get another at a later date. just dont want to spend anymore in case it still does not work. also cant get new engine. dont want to put a uk one in.
why me lol

The flush could help lots... it does sound like HLA noise, and I was just wondering if you still had the old engines, take the HLA's out of them... if they are shot.

yeah, engine guaranteed but its the labour thats killing me, have a wee girl and big house to support and i just dont have the cash to throw at it anymore.
will buy some flush and have a go, problem is engine not connected up to the cooling system yet as seemed to be no point if its not working ok. we will see
Kimbelle, interior like rest is immaculate, reason i'm usually skint lol taking care of it. only downside to car was the alloys and i went and got 18" rx8 wheels to go on, oops
