HELP Clutch quote

Not mechanically minded but know i need a new clutch

Just fainted with a quote of £430

MX6 1997 2.5

Is this reasonable , I have phoned 3 up so far and it's gone as a high as £485

Not too bad to be honest mate.

However, doing a clutch yourself isn't too hard. The most important thing you can use for this is an engine brace and a compressor torque wrench.

Cheers Parallex, but I am REALLY not mechanically minded

I take it this is mainly labour costs, as they reckon about 5 hours.

yeah a lot of the cost will be in Labour.
I have a clutch kit lying around somewhere if you want it. It's a new, remanufactered kist (can you say that??? ).
I think it was about £85 when I bought it. so.. £50 +delivery if you do.
It was bought to go in mine when I had the engine swap done but not fitted as there was a mix up at the garage and they ordered a new one and fitted that.

Many Thanks Russell, ended up at Formula One Clutches for £351, fully fitted inc VAT appreciate the offer though.
