Fitted the module myself, glad i could do it that way, wasn't looking forward to running cable through the door etc. Works great, agree that the load is probably a bit high for the central locking wiring but the windows close ok without overheating albeit a bit slower than usual. Great mod!!!

Hi Gadget.

One word of warning. The closure module on mine eventually burnt out. I think it may have been due to moisture shorting things out as the connectors looked a bit rusty, but there was no sign of water in the door.

Should have mentioned earlier, that the genuine kit uses Cobra relays, so I bet they can be bought elsewhere cheaper.

If anyone does buy the cobra ones, I stilll have the wiring diagrams for them.

I could draw up a circuit for a window closer if anyone would be interested in building their own unit.

John

I just bought one of the cobra window closure units on ebay, but the seller did not enclose a wiring diagram and I not sure they have anyway. Its got seven numbered pins. All I need to know is where each one should be wired to.
Hope you can help.

Did the mod this last weekend - piece of cake with John's wiring diagram. Working like a charm. Thanks John

Now I know that this guy hasn't been on since '04 but I had a stereo shop install my alarm with the lock out deal windows and all. He was supposed to do the sunroof and spent "days" working on it. The alarm company couldn't give him any info as they didn't have directions for an mx6. Does anybody have the walkthrough for which relays and how to wire them to get the sunroof to go via the remote?
