No oil light on dash..

managed to remember to look to see if the light for the oil sensor comes on and it doesn't (when i start the engine)

Does this mean the bulb is blown?

If i'm gonna have to take the dash apart I may as well fit reverse dials at the same time.....

over to those who know....

ta,

noone.

ahhhhhhhhggggggghhhhhhhhh......

that... means... taking....the...dash....out.....

i've looked it up and I can't say it looks like much fun.. but I'm much happier with that kinda job than mechanicals...

Anything I need to know thats not in the articles I've read... I'm normally very good at taking things apart, its the putting back together that I have a problem with

So, what bulb do I need (sorry.. but I don't know what it would be!)

And how long should it take?

as ever.. many thanks.

noone.

Hold on.

DONT take you dash out yet.

My bulb didnt light with the ignition and it was the sender unit that had failed.

daaaaaah!

Phew-ew! Ok.. I'll take a look a the sender tomorrow, I know there is a thread on that somewhere I'll have a search.. I know you have to be carefull taking it out (small thread, large thing etc) but (hold on stupid question time) does oil piddle out when you remove it, or is it such that it only get to the sensor when under pressure?

(see I know BUGGER ALL about engines! )

many thanks,

noone.

Those bulbs are easy to source from your local motor factors.
Don't take the sensor out to test it just pull the wire off and connect it directly to earth. When you switch your ignition on the dash bulb should light up. If not then it's probably the bulb.
