Well ive had a bit of work done to the car.... much better now. So its onto the next area of concern.........
two points here....... firstly at speeds of 60mph + i get a distinct feeling of lightness at the front end, just feels like the car is alittle light on the steering.
secondly and possibly related, on cornering i feel the car has too much body roll, and maybe its just me but the back end seems to wallow somewhat.
Now maybe its cos previous to my mx6 i had a fully lowered mx5 which thought body roll was to do with over eating, or maybe im just just a crap driver.... but i suspect that the supspension may need looking at? Its done 68k miles and doesnt suffer from any creaks or groans on cornering. the joints etc all look fine.
so what ya think, some new springs etc? I'm already looking at a strut brace and dropping it anyway.
speak your words of wisdom fellow mazdaites...
i have bags of karma to give away!
Well, depends on the mileage, but those springs are likely the originals fitted... with some high miles on the car, they're bound to be feeling a little soft now. Could also be the shocks getting soft, how does it bounce when you put all your weight on each corner and push down hard and let go... It should bounce back up and then settle with a minor bounce.
A strut brace does help at the front, fitted one to mine and it's firmer round the corners. I know what you mean about the lightness o the front end under acceleration though, mine does the same. Really noticed it since fitting the brace and new wheels.
I'm looking at cost of springs to lower mine about 30mm, that should stiffen things up a little. Later on I'll get some new shocks and that should really get things firmed out.
But first, a new job to pay for it.

Hey Wacky, the best guys to talk to about this are Russ and Einstein. I drove Russ's up Norf at one of the meets and its tighter than Hecklers wallet! Getting back in mine was like getting on a boat, altho I do have a busted stabiliser link which doesn't help.
Suspension is one of the things on my "to do" list now that I have 17's on, the problem is the 4 speed bumps on the way out of my estate. It used to scrape on 15's so i've not fully made my mind up yet.
If you do decide to go for it, I think most manufacturers only do a 30/35mm drop but looking at Russ's it doesnt seem too extreme. Russ n Einstein will proberbly try and get you to empty you wallet on some Tokico struts so be aware!!
I think people are struggling to get hold of the Eibach's now as I think i'm right in saying they dont do them for a 6 anymore. PI's are an alternative.
Although they have been delisted, there should still be a few in the shops...... somewhere
Failing that. PI etc.. but I would still have the Illuminas

Found some for same on a couple of US websites, around the $225 plus shipping price range. They give a 1.3 drop at the Front and 1.2 at the rear.
Put an ad in for the car, if I can sell it soon, gonna order some.
