Some of you may have been woundering, where is Bloomin18 lately? No??? Oh well, never mind. Here's the story anywhooo...
Someone careless driver who wasn't watching where he was goining, hit my MX6 from behind!
Insurance company say that my motor may be of a write off because, the cost of the parts to repair it, almost add up to the market value of the vehicle! I am gutted!
The back bumper and exhaust took most of the impact. So, I need an entire new exhuast and rear bumper. Plus when you open the boot. You can see the body work has also folded in a bit, due to the impact. So, that'll need looking at as well.
At the moment. I am driving a naf '05 Reg Ford Focus. Ok, it's newer than my K reg MX6. But it doesn't have half the gadgets MX6 has or should I say had? Lol! I.E, folding mirrors at a touch of a button and DIGITAL interior controls.
Really sorry to hear that mate.... Seems to be a sudden rash of accidents... It's a conspiracy I tell you.
If they do decide to write it off, you can do 2 things... Buy it back and get the work done yourself out of the settlement. Buy it back and part it out and get even more money towards the next one.
I'm assuming that it's a J-Spec, so I'm going to be really cheeky here and ask that if you part it out, can I have the folding mirrors, stainless sills... if it's a black one... I might be after the lights/fogs and front bumper too.

Can't blame a guy for trying. I hope he gets it fixed, be a shame to see one lost. But you know it will all go to good homes.

We didn't get any turbocharged models in the UK...
In the older GD models, there is a 2.2 I4 turbo.. (FE-T I think)
If it is an older model, it won't have folding mirrors etc..

I could open up a savage yard in me own back garden for me MX6. Lol!
Yes lads, it is a J-Spec, Black colour as well! My first choice would be to buy it back and have it repair. Cos, me and MX6 have been to hell and back. Lol! However, my main concern is parts. Will I struggle to find a brand new bumper, exhaust, amongst other components, due to the vehicle being of an IMPORT?
You'd have to do some serious searching to find the import parts you need and then you may not like the prices. Zorst shouldnt be a problem but anything J-spec specific may be.
