re speakers.. i recon you have a grounding problem, are you running any amps?

check the head unit and see where its grounded, if needs be find a better grounding point and ground it directly.

also for the amps, mine did the same until I put in a decent ground wire and used one of the seat brackets bolts on the back seats.

what wrong with you auto box??? i could do with a spare... just in case!

That's line noise from your alternator. I would suggest adding a ground wire to your engine (stock one is pathetically small). Are the front ones making the same whine?

Are you running the original head unit? I upgraded my front 6.5's a couple years ago and would get a lot of crackle through them when going through the factory amp. I ran some wires straight from the HU to speakers and fixed that problem.

MX-3 is a direct fit to the 2.5L. Stock weighted MX-3 flywheel will be ~5 pounds lighter than stock weighted MX-6 flywheel.

You can get a noise suppressor which stops the wirring noise, should seel 'em in maplins, Halfords etc. Pretty cheap, 3 wires, easy to install, I think Wolfie has one...

yes i am running an amp of the seat bolts and that is all good, im also using an alpine head unit which ive never had any problems with, the noise has just started after i put these new speakers in

would one of those grounding kits sort the problem?

a suppressor from maplins will work, but its not the best cure... maybe try another grounding point for the amp.. mine whined for ages and was wired to the seat bolts, it wasn't until i re-wired it and used better wire / connectors that the whine when away.

i think grounding kits are a waste of £££

Yep i'd double check the ground again, make sure any paint has been sanded any, use fat cabling i've got mine on the seat belt bolt. You could also adjust the gains on the amp, its probably set too high as its only started with the new speakers, the old ones were probably harder to crank.

The suppressor kits will get rid of the noise at the expense of sound quality and shouldn't need to be used if the install is good, double check your connections

A fatter grounding kit to the battery isn't a waste as the stock connection looks weedy, it can't hurt put it that way! esp since they're not too much money, I been thinking bout one myself would be good to know how its goes if you went that way
