aaaggghhhh!!!!, my car look like a load of w**k!

i think i've made a major fux up!

i got a load of 3L (silver stone metallic) paint, and the fecking stuff dont match!!! i've resprayed 1 whole wing and patched a few other bits and now its dry it looks flippin awful!

i need to get this sorted tomorrow, but i dont think i'll find a solution. I am truly screwed.

so, looks like the car pass wont be used on sunday, will just have to hide the car in the bushes while i visit you guys with your shiny (and matching) paintwork.

what a crap day.

well, actually there are a couple of other patches...

but anyhow... i ordered 3L... so there is no reason why it shouldnt match up, i know there may be fade to take into account but this paint i got is MUCH darker.

Is there a difference between 3L & 4G ? as the paint code (as per this site) says 3L/4G.... its not a mix of the 2 is it?

This is really doing my head in.... if i can be sure i will get the right colour, i might just order 0.5L of the right stuff in a spray can tomorrow just to blow over the whole panel.

The car would be a dissgrace to have in our area, its just tooo.... tired, shabby and missmatched!

If i wasnt the only one going with a crappy looking six it wouldnt be so bad, but i feel i would let the side down big time.

If only there was more time, then i would do a full respray myself in a slightly more unique colour... i really fancy the car in yellow

Dunno about the 3L/4G issue.
I use 3L on mine and it's a near perfect match.
Not much help I know. Sorry!

Don't worry about it, my bonnet is well and truly awful as are the rear quarters... If it's sunny, I'll be ashamed of mine to... Can't wait to get it resprayed.

i suppose i will have to get to halfords tomorrow as a quick stop-gap and i will sort out the mess with the pain company next week.

Same here, paint probs all round. I don't like the faded offside wing and also I have "pitting" on front bumper AND also back bumper from the top looks like a mosaic in the correct light AND last but not least their are marks on the top of the boot. Dunno what they are. I'm stuck with em for now unfortunately

At the end of the day.... these cars are nearly 14 years old, many having over 100,000 miles on them, and probably most of that at high speed...

I think it will be a cold day in hell before someone turns up in one that looks like it just rolled off the line at the factory...

I just keep seeing much newer cars, in appalling condition.... and it makes me smile..
