High idle

Another problem for all you boffins
Idle speed has now increased to about 1500 and sometimes hunts up and down between 1000 and 1500. When it hunts, touching the throttle stops it and then it sits at 1500 again. It runs ok when driving. No codes have been logged. Have physically checked connections at TPS IAC and MAF also throttle cable connections at the TB. Will do resistance check etc of the above at weekend. Any other info greatly received.
Thanks

Colin .,., first check your coolant level by removing the water filler cap above the timing belt where the top pipe goes to the radiator. Fill the water until it half fills the neck.. start engine, let it warm, and gently squeeze the 2 water pipes going to the bottom of the throttle body, also any other water pipes you can access and try to remove any air blockages, if the water level drops at anytime below the neck, top it back up again. Fluctuating idle's can be caused by the IAC valve either sticking, or reading different water temp values ( air in water ) as it passes through. You may need to clean the IAC valve, which would require the Throttle body being removed.

Oddy.

Gone...
