Rear Spoiler

Hiya

Regarding the rear spoiler light (brake) , mine has not come on since ive had the car, can anyone tell me if its led's inside as its a sealed unit i am unaware as to whats inside, i only see one wire coming from the boot, i woud think that would be the central locking wires???? thanks in advance!

Also just to let you guy's know, i tried some 18 inch vw 5 stud alloys on my car today and they fit, i also didnt know that vw would fit my car, buy hey there ya go!

Having never seen the rear brake light fitted as stock, I'm bot sure, but I would suspect that the wires for the brake light would be in the plastic loom that carries the central locking wires too.

There should be 2 wires from the brake light as well as the stock central locking stuff.

I'm not sure what's in the light, but I would guess at bulbs, not LED's.
I haen't taken one apaert, and you can't really tell looking at it.

Yes they are LEDS inside a sealed unit - and unfortunately, apart from connecting wires up to a battery, there is no way to tell if they work or not.

There is a connector piece in the bootlid where the light connects to the wiring system, this can be disconnected and checked. Other than that - check your fuses etc.
