Well it was that time of year again, and Rosie went in for her yearly check-up..
For the first time in over 3 years, i was not expecting her to pass... i had started getting a seriously loud banging noise from the near-side rear when going over large bumps. I prayed there was nothing wrong with the tokico set-up and maybe i had lost a drop link or something....
Anyway.. dropped the car off with a friend, told him i would be back later, he called me back after 5 mins saying 'i think you should come and have a look at this ...' not good.. upon jacking the rear of the car, the N/S rear wheel stayed on the ground !!!! strut, spring the lot ! the culprit ....
Looks like the extra strength of the Tokico shocks and springs took its toll on this poor blighter !!! I was lucky and managed to get a nearby Mazda dealer to get one in the next day ( £106 !!!! ) and had it replaced.. apart from an advisory on the rear brakes ( supprise supprise ) she then went on to pass .. phew ..
