Codes

I've just pulled the codes on my j-spec and the bloody l.e.d. was flashing all over the place. No matter how many times I watched, I couldn't work out what the codes were. The only thing I could be certain of were the breaks in between the flashes. Are the flash sequences different for a jap car or is mine just trashed?

Del.

you must ignore the first long flash ( approx 4 secs) then start from there.

As soon as I turn the ignition on I get a series of 5 short flashes, no long flash...

As Dave says, you normally get the LED to light up for about 4-5 secs at first, but as John has mentioned and i have witnessed, this sometimes does not happen..

So .. after the 5 short flashes ... do you get a 10 ? and then some more short flashes to register another code ? if so i would go for a CODE 05 and then work from there on the flashes and see what you can make out..
and i know you have enough 6's there to nick a knock sensor off

Plus if its a runner Del, and its new to you, maybe reseting the codes and taking it for a spin could be a good idea. Some of the codes could be old and have been rectified without the ECU being reset.

Paul.

Gone...
