is it the dizzy or is it the "ignitor module" ?

Replacement parts can be had brand new from Ford Dealers.

Sure there's a thread on it here somewhere

failing that fordprobestore.co.uk should be able to sort you out, be it with an ignitor module fix or full dizzy.

pretty sure it is the dizzy

the car just goes along then dies no warning

oil water and fuel are fine.

when you try to re start the car it will back fire then nothing, recovered by the rac last night and drove the 6 off the truck.
started this morning got 12 miles then it died again recovered home and drove off the truck again.

starts first time and fires as soon as the key is turned.

it idles at 1200rpm which i know is high.

i have had all the belts changed, cam cover seals done,
full service changing all filters and fluids, plugs and new leads last month.

i know it needs new o2 sensor which are on order.

i have found a place in Essex which will do a re con dizzy for £100 with 6 month warranty.
MAZDA - MX-6 - MX-6 2.5 24V COUPE Parts - Engine Code - KL - Ignition Car Parts

my only other choice is the fast line alarm which has been playing up, it will not open on the fob then you have to set the alarm off to get the alarm to un arm then the car will start.

From the sound of that, I'd go for the ignitor module fault, however, £100 for a recon dizzy is a good price..................
