Welcome mazda1109,

The problem you are experiencing may have several solutions - first question for you is: you seem to have done a bit of work already - head gasket, water pump, battery, plugs and dizzy cap - is there a particular reason for this?
How long have you had the car and why have you replaced parts in the order you have done?

The dizzy is certainly a known problem on early cars but not usually on a '96. On earlier cars, the ignitor module can go - may be worth checking, but if you give us a bit more info, maybe we can come up with alternatives for you.

hi
bought car from brother it had a blown head gasket so the rac told him, so replaced the gaskets ,and valve seals aswell, the water pump was leaking so replaced it, then did full service all filters, plugs, belts, oils, shel turn over lovly but will not fire, ive placed paper under the injectors and wound her over but no fuel came out allthough fuel rail full, changed crank sensor as now this will stop injectors from pulsing, am at a loss at mo

are you sure the timing belt went on correctly after the head was removed/replaced?

edit..
are you saying you have removed the rails from the intake, connected them up and cranked her over and no fuel flowed..but you have fuel pressure ?

first of all pull the error codes to check input sensors..

if that comes up empty take one plug of an injector rail...make sure you have a 12v+ on the wire on the end of the connector and that you get a pulse of a ground on the other 3 when cranking..(best with analog volt meter cos its kind-a fast)
if you dont get +12 v when keys are in the on position you have probably lifted a fuse..
if you dont get the pulse of -12v then either the ecu is stuffed or the input that tells it to fire is shot..

Double check the valve timing for a start.. (no pun intended )

Forget the dizzy and electrics, as you say you have a spark..

Injectors are fired from the ECU, and it also controls the pump...

With any engine, fuel + compression + spark all at the right time should make it fire..

My guess is valve timing maybe out.. try a compression check... see if the plugs are wet with fuel..

Thanks all for help so far.
yes i did lift fuel rails and placed paper under them, nowt came out,
have tryed coeds but nothing shows up on dash atall,

when you say check valve timing do you mean removing the rockers and check the markings again on the inside of cams,, or the marks via timing belt ,,sorry i bit thick sometimes,,

if the ecu buggerd how will i now ,and can i replace it with a second hand one from nother car,,,,also input that tells injectors to fire crank+cam sensors i think are there anyothers

will be able to work on car moro so will check and double check again..

cheers Lee

I've been wrong before... but you are saying you are not getting fuel out of the injectors...you have fuel pressure
surly its a problem with the injector "firing".. even if the valve timing or anything was out it would still fire/flow fuel out of the injectors...?

I've moved this to the technical section - you may get a few more ideas here.

hi all
just spent 2 hours in the freezing cold and wet checking everything over again to no avail,,,,

have tested dizzy its ok giving out signal,,
crank sesnor ok,,,
nothing showing up on dash from code reader,,,
not getting any resistance readings from the injector harness for any injector,,

im at a loss now does this mean that my pcm is shot ?
can i test it in anyway,,,,

will a second hand one just plug straight in and would a 93 one be ok for my 96 ????????????

hopefully Lee

We all presume you are in the UK... if so, you won't have a CEL (Check Engine Light) as UK cars never had one..

You short TEN & GND and use a 12V LED or regular LED with 10K resistor inline, inserted int B+ and FEN... turn on the ignition, and count the flashes..

www.ourweb.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/diags.doc

Also.. check or replace the MAIN Relay.. (looking from side of car, middle relay of 3 on far right hand side, nearest windscreen)
Don't think it's your ECU as you are getting a spark.. although you may want to check all the electrical connections just to be sure..
