J-spec lights question

I just bought some J-spec headlights off ebay for £53!!!!
I've been looking at the install guides on the site but they're all for A-specs, will they fit my uk car straight away or is modding required?

Thanks

Robert

Please tell me you bought the wiring connectors and seperate fog / indicator clusters to go with them? The J-Spec lights don't have indicators in them you see.

If you knew this already, BARGAIN!

Ben.

Eh? you mean e-specs chap.

The auction was only for the headlights Ben, so now he's going to be on the hunt for some foglight/indicators. It looked like the wiring harnesses were included but to what extent i'm not sure.

Wonder how much of a pig it is to wire these up on an e-spec, including the fogs etc.

As a temporary measure, you could fit some silver bulbs to use as indicators until you get the J-Spec fogs.

I'm a patient person, I'll have a look at them when they arrive and see how exactly they are different. Then I'll devise a way of 'bodging' them maybe.
so... everything is in the same place except the indicators? can I not just bodge my current indicator bulb into the end compartment?
In the J-spec the indicators are in the fogs not the headlight? so what exactly is in each of the three headlight compartments on the J-spec?
E.G. inner - dipped + side
centre - main
outer - ??(indicator on the e-spec)

thanks

Robert

Dipped and side are seperate. Sides are where the indicators are on an e-spec.

so... on the j-spec the indicators are in the fog lights. If I got hold of a pair of those would it be legal in the uk? If it is then I'm defo gonna keep it like it is on the j-spec. I'll get Maputosimon to try get me some from a japanese scrap yard.

thanks

Robert

heres what a j-spec light setup looks like mate, as you can see the fogs/indicators are in the bumper and are legal in the uk. Not sure if j-spec fogs fit an e-spec bumper tho, you would have to ask around.

If you want to go the whole hog then the fogs are directional and move with the steering but you would need the steering sensor, dash switch and wiring loom to hook them up.

hmmm, this is beginning to seem more complicated. I have the headlights and they came with all the connectors needed for wiring. what would anyone recommend? go with the proper main and dipped bulbs and replace the side with indicator, would I get away without sides cos I never really use them? or could I get some small lights to sit in the bumper as my sidelights? I'm unsure of the law on this. If the japanese fogs would fit then I'd definitely get them.
When I solve this I'll do a guide with lot's of pictures.

Thanks

Robert
