Grin BaBaKa passed it's MOT today

Hi Guys,

I am a happy bunny once again as she passed her MOT earlier with flying colours.

Mileage is now 108640

Two minor problems:

1) Rear seat belts are sluggish upon return, no doubt due to lack of use and can be a failure at a later date but was not an advisory.

2) Rear tyre walls on the outside cracking, yet the inside walls were 100%. The car was kept in Portugal prior to my having her, so probable sun damage. They are still hardly worn. No advisory I am glad to say.

The Exhaust Emissions Test Results were marginally better than last time, don't know why except last time the rear silencer was just replaced and now it's a year and 3000 miles older !!!

Fast Idle Test

CO Level = 0.01 % vol Pass 0.20 max
HC Level = 3 ppm Pass 200 max
Lambda = 1.0004 Pass 0.970 min 1.030 max

Natural Idle Test

CO Level = 0.00 % vol Pass 0.30 max
Last year this figure was 0.01

The other matter we discussed was the clunk from the offside front when turning right quickly.

We looked at the front anti-roll bar again and on the offside there is a good 2-3" clearance from the chassis/front suspension but only a fraction of a clearance, if at all, on the nearside above the chassis/front suspension.

There were also visible signs that the arb was touching the metal on the nearside and the whole bar had moved to the right again.

He reckons this could still be the cause of the clunk and possibly not the O/S/F Brake Caliper.

Still, I will be taking her to see Nick Clulee in Sheffield soon and we will find out, for sure.

PS.

Is it worth getting the slightly dearer set of front caliper anti-rattle springs.

I assume the £7.79 ones from Probestore are better than their cheaper ones?

Cheers

When it comes to breaks and stuff unless your getting an upgrade I only use origonal stuff. There are some things its not worth taking a chance with IMO.

Great news on the pass though
