If it hasn't got an MOT you could do with finding out why.
As for parts you would be in the same boat as a 2nd gen 6, but you do see a few four dor versions for sale.
They were more popular in the US and Australia. My advice would pop over to the other forums and have a chat with them, they would be able to give you more advice.

that is an awful advert!! rare or not, i bet it needs a fortune spending to put it right. I reckon the "lady owner 11 years" is a load of rubbish as well...personally, because of the ad, i would be uber cautious!
I don't believe the one lady owner bit (lowered?), the cars in the background (Scooby & XR2) and the reflection in the body panel (trainers not high heels!).
All that said it's a car that looks like it's been cared for. I dosen't matter who is selling it as long as it belongs to them and all is in order.

Had a long look at the seller.
His feedback is based on him buying cheap items (flower seeds @99p) and selling a few cars.
His feedback from the cars is OK and he has two other cars for sale at the moment, one being the red XR2 is the background.
My guess is he is someone buying from the auctions and trying to make a few quid (can't blame him for that). I suspect he's young-ish and is tempted by the 'boy racer' style cars that come up for sale, however he has sold some standard saloons as well.
I would look on this as a 'project' car.
If you can't get to see it your self see if another member will have a look for you, remember it will need trailering away if it has no MOT.

Reason: Some more info
i think I will be leaving this one alone, I messaged him and he is okay with viewing it,but the fact that there is a hole in the boot that needs welding worries me...........
I mean if there is a hole in the boot that requires welding then whats the rest of the underside like?.
I think I'll stick with the MX6 for now till a decent 1G comes up.......
