After a bit of digging around today it seems the window and seal are all one part, so unless it can be removed whole, its a new one from mazda at the cost of £227 plus fitting. Ouch!!

The us side seems to think you can't get these anymore, tried mazda again today to confirm but answering machine and no reponse from them.

Also someone breaking one is going to try and remove whole but they are yet to get back to me, getting a little dis-heartened now about saving chees's other 6, surely a little window like this can't mean the death of a car?

Hi david
Have you considered replace your window with a piece of lexan polycarbonate sheet,as i use this at work and is clear looks like glass and very strong they say virtually unbreakable.
You can get it in all sizes if you look on ebay you will probally get a offcut for a couple of quid.
Dave

What an excellent idea, if i can sperate the glass from the rubber this will do the trick and lighter. Not sure how it acts in a crash though. Could be lethal with the kids in the back, but i'll certainly look into it.
