Is this true, can't I fit NOS to mine

Right, I'll compose something when I get a minute.

Until I get my Jspec fitted and do some tests I won't be able comparative results however if someone has told you that a 0.8:1 compression ratio increase over the Espec will mean that instead of being able to run a 150 shot you can only run a 0 shot and I would say they are over reacting.

A 10:1 CR still isn’t that high and on a 2.5 litre will still allow a shot big enough to be 'fun'.

It is true that higher CRs do affect the total amount of gas you can run but it will also make a smaller shot more effective. Yes its very important to get the fuelling correct and not to get too greedy but it can be done effectively.

I suspect there may have been a little bit of the green eyed by ppl who don't have Jspecs trying to scare monger a little by exaggerating some facts a bit

I am thinking of adding Mark 626GT to my ignore list

I'd be looking to run a 50 shot, certainly no more than that. I would assume I will see a significant improvement in acceleration with that size jets and still keep my engine in tact.

How hard is it to set the fuelling up, based on the above?

Gary, the TB water by-pass does not give much and many that have done it switch back due to poor idling... messing with the egr valve could mess up your emmisions test for mot. dont know exactly what you mean in terms of the fuel rail mod, the banjo bolt, yes it would help a little, but as for bigger injectors, nope, only if going FI....

Maybe a 65-67mm TB .. and some j-spec bits ...

There is anpther fuel rail mod apart from the Banjo bolt "Twin Feed"

The rails as standard, are looped 2gether on the drivers side ,

Remove the loop fit a "T" piece, then hook up 2 an FSE or equivalent.

On the other end do the sameremove the standard regulator ,put in an adapter plate an "T" both rails 2getherrun line 2 fuel filter.

You will now have 2 fuel rails feeding equal pressure fuel 2 the engine

Euge.....

Euge have you got any pictures of said mod? This sounds quite interesting as I would rather do this than fanny about with the banjo. It would negate the need for a seperate FSE in the usual spot I take it?

Would it work with a seperate FMU eg the Apexi SAFCII? As in on a Supercharger (Blower) setup...and would fitting a Walbro255 make it dangerous to do?

(Only a question or two )

Ben.

sorry 4 the late reply,i been working flat out on the 6 to get her ready 4 S/Charging... not long now.

u can use what ever u want with dual feed set up,i had an FSE with a Cossie FMU and all was fine with the S/C on ,i`ll post some pics when i get my camera backit`s actually safer when increasing performance and fuel pressures, as both the rails get equal pressure, and less chance of small airlocks.

If u get a wet kit it`s fairly easy..ie,NOS jets + fuel jets

I ran a 50 shot on a PGT-KLO3 for 6 months with no harm 2 the engine and then S/C`d it .I would recommend some prep work first though,if u have cats in the manifolds either get earlier one`s with out or better still Hot Shots or Pacesetters, change exhaust and remove cat,an adjustable F/R, FSE or a better aeromotive unit,go i grade colder on the plugs Iridiums are bestthis would be my bare minimum.

i ran mine on a Probe with 222BHP and 200lbft b4 NOS,with 60% OF A 50 shot i had 254BHP and 237lbft
