Saw these on ebay and was wondering if anyone knows if they`ll fit my 4ws j-spec??http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...category=33590. Seem to remember something about the fittings on the rear being slightly offset because of rear steer, and are these a good price??
Thanks

UK and J-Spec struts are the same. Only difference is if you have 4ws then the rear springs are stiffer.
If anyone wants a set ive got the full set of mazda speed uprated springs for a 4ws moddel. Had them fitted to my uk spec but the back end was a little high

can anyone confirm this for sure? I want to throw on the 2gen Illuminas in the rear of my 1gen. I did this on my other 2ws 1gen. All you have to do is grind a bit. The reason that I thought you couldn't was because maybe the rears weren't meant to turn and might bust
To be fair, I thought they would be different.. but Kyle (cruisemad) has both E-Spec and J-Spec cars, so he would know for sure..

Kyle is refering to 2ws and 4ws 2nd Gen only. The 4ws being the Jap import 2nd gen and the 2ws being the e-spec / a-spec 2nd gen. I doubt the second gen struts will fit a first gen.

...............you dont stop laughing because you grow old, ..you grow old because you stop laughing.....
Although the part numbers are different for the 1st and 2nd gen cars, I have heard on a few occasions, that they do fit..
I have also heard, the the 4WS model is different again..
So it's one of those unanswered questions.. unless someone has done it... who knows?

if you can FIND WHERE to buy some Iluminas I'd love to know (US prob) I've emailed SO many supplier from the leads everyone has given me, but got little back in the form of a reply....
Noonespecial has left the building... thanks n so long for all the fish....
The top mounts are different , They have a bearing like on the front to allow the movement of the strut ... But the struts from 2ws to 4ws will fitt across just change the top mounts over.
So in other words if I just use the same mounts from the 4ws the stryt should be ok. I was wondering because I didn't know if mabe the strut would burst because maybe the polished part was not intended to spin bacause they were designed for rears.
