hello to you all i am new here

First let me say hi to every one at and on MX6.com , i am pretty new to this but have been browsing this site for about a month since i purchased a black n reg mx6 gt abs. the car has done 125,00 miles but came with full history and had a cambelt change at 111,000, the car also came with 16" mazda alloys and apart from that its completely standard and in very nice condition apart for a few scratches,
After driving the car for a week i noticed the front drivers side alloy was getting real hot along with a burning smell i was adviced to replace the calliper which i did along with the a set of new pads, the next day i had to replace the front passenger side calliper because that one had now seized ,
Now when i drive the car with the window`s open i can hear what can only be described has a jangling noise coming from the front wheels which when i brake it stoppes, take my foot of the brakes and when i go over a few bumps it jangles again ( the noise sounds like say the centre caps on the wheels had come very loose and had started make a noise with every bump in the road ) but the centre caps are fitted tight i have checked i can only think that the noise is com`ing from the front brakes.
Hi to everyone again

Hi Ian and welcome ....

Ok - I assume youve checked the bolts holding the wheel on ?

Does it make the nose if you jac the car up and spin the wheel ?

Its possibly a cross threaded bolt - or the shims at the back of the pads could be fitted badly ?

Did you fit the brakes yourself ? If so its often easier to strip them down and rebuild them again - its very easy to miss somthing small out ...

Let us know how you get on ....

Regards

Hi Ian, welcome to the board.

Sounds like it may be a loose or bent guide plate.
There should be a piece of spring metal that fits over the top and bottom of the pads.

No 8 in this diagram:

Hi Ian welcome

It's prob the guide plates at the top and bottom little silver looking bits that sit on the carrier at the top and bottom before you put the pads in, had the same prob myself the other week, take them out and reset the pads can be a apin to get right.
