Ok so i have to face facts. My 6 is going to be off the road for some time and although im driving my mates golf gti and its greate on fuel it is in desperate need for a clutch and he just wants to sell it on. Fool!!! Anyway so ive decided i needed to get something which will get me round till I can fix the 6.
Well it wasnt easy looking for a car but I finally decided to get a Rover 820 Vitesse Turbo. Its quite cheap and i pick it up on sunday. The main reason is before we converted my mates 220 coupe I drove the 820 (donor car) for 2 days and not only did the seat adjust perfectly for me but it didnt go that bad neither. I know they are group 17 but its still cheaper to insure than the 6 and has better mpg so it fits the bill until the 6 is ready to come and kick all your asses (that includes marks).

But its never gonna get decent MPGs - especially with you driving it ! Its also a Rover so the rate you go through Mazda V6's the poor little straight 4 isnt gonna last a week !
Also the handle like the titanic ( i had the misfortune of having to drive one for a while - non turbo so was slow aswell )
On the plus side there as cheap as chips to buy ( cos no one int here right mind would buy one ) ---- Arh that explains it :-P
Joking aside i hope this one behave whilst you fix your 6.
Yeah ok so its not going to be greate on fuel but it cant be any worse than my 6.
To be honest i didnt find it that bad. Thought it was very similar to my old senator that i had. The Turbo isnt that quick but will still shift and put the miles on well (im doing nearly 950 miles a week!!!) As for not being very strong... well my mate drives his 220 coupe like he wants to kill it and its still going strong. Yes they have a habbit of doing the head gasket in every 100k but thats about it.
Im not trading my 6 for a Rover but I cant afford another 6 or another engine so im rebuilding mine. Not sure weather i should go with the high compression bottom end or the low compression yet. Makes no difference really as its all the same except the pistons. Will make the decision on the day i build it.

Kyles goin to come back with his 6 in mean shape i reckon jus to beat mark, wouldnt surprise me if he puts a turbo on his 6!! hmmm a 2.5turbo?? gotta b thinking it kyle think of the power
I have but i dont think i can afford to go down that road yet. However, I am looking at having my heads and inlet manifold flowed and ported to get a few more ponnies. High Compression Bottom end and might look at a small shot of nos (but not till after the run in).
