Xedos 6 Mods

Hi all,

I currently have a lovely Xedos 6 with a 2.0 V6 engine.
I have been looking around for some engine mods but I wasn’t successful.

Can anyone tell me where to find any or if engine mods that fit a MX 6 would fit my xedos 6?

Yep!!!

The FSE power boost valve listed for the probe will fit.

Induction Kit - Probably will fit but a CAI wont. The reason is the inlet manifold on the xedos is the same as the KLZE engine which noone seems to do a cai for. You can always get a universal filter cone which will fit. Probably cheaper.

Exhaust - Well with the 6 there isnt many options. Custom S/S from somewhere like powerflow or a Scorpion Back box. Not sure on your exhaust configuration (will check in a min) but i guess its different. So get a custom S/S its less than you think. Get it decatted if you are looking for power.

Clutch's and Flywheels will fit.

Cant think of much else.

Yep sorry back boxes are different. Exhaust manifolds are the same though so you could fit performance headers from the states.

A CAI should fit if you only replace from the VAF forwards though.
See my pics...

But the vaf sits further forward with that inlet manifold and standard 90 bend (or atleast i think it does). My old induction kit didnt fit. Had to mod it.

Catch you later on this one...

Yepppeeeeee ! another Xedos

hi Matrix welcome to the boards now I do'nt have to feel lonely anymore and on top of that your local , Poole this end.

As for the modding side of things theres not a lot uk wise about "off the shelf" but some of the above holds true with some mods CAI can be made to fit.

some german and jap sites have some goodys I will have to look up the links

now then as your local , how about coming out on the 26th to a big meet in the New Forest with the probes mx6,ers and some members here

check out the linkhttp://www.mx6.com/forums/showthread...threadid=69310
you then get some ideas /info / tips , on what will fit

regards Roland

PS ken we have enougth people down here to make a local chapter

Well I'll be blowed - I never realised it.

I've just checked a pic I took of my old Xedos engine bay and compared it to the MX6 and the VAF and airbox is indeed slightly further forward. Still, one like the Zenxsport may fit, we'll have to measure up one day:

(No comments on the state of the engine please)

Smile

Well just managed to get time and come back online. This is great.
I have to thank all of you for the information, you have been very helpful.

Now at least I have information on what to look for and gave me hopes of moding my XEDOS 6.

26th October sounds great lucky its one day before I fly to Germany for 3 days. I don’t have any plans for that date so I cant see a problem with coming and meeting some of you.

I think I will start off with an induction kit first then maybe lowering the car. Any idea of what springs I could use? Also would I need to change the suspension as well?

To be honest I'm very new with mods and very grateful for the help.

I'm sorry for being so new at this.

I know that CAI stands for Cold Air Intake, but what does VAF stand for or at least what is it?

Hi Matrix,

As for springs... Eibach.. and best purchased from Motorsportworld..... unless you know anywhere cheaper..

VAF.... volume air flow, reads the amount of air going into the intake.. used for calculating the amount of fuel/air mix.

has a large cone inside, which moves back as more air passes..

MAF.. Mass air flow, does exactly the same job, but works on temperature.... more air is cooler.. doesn't have a cone, so is less restrictive.. hard to convert from VAF to MAF.

At last a friend for Roland
