spark plug gaps

The mx had been slightly holding back on general aceleration and a bit hesitant when pulling gentley away from a standing start.
I took the spark plugs out cleaned them and found that the gap had opened up very slightly. Having reset them to 1.1mm the old 6 goes like shes suppossed to again, no hesitation at all.

I didn't realise this would make such a difference

The manual does list a gap of 1mm - 1.1mm

any smaller, and you run the risk of fouling the plugs.. any wider, and you may experience misfiring or loss of power.

Thanks I set some time ago just never quite got round to checking them this year and the gap had opened up causing the slight loss of power.

Yup, that'll happen, loss of power as our ignitions are a bit weak (IMO and in my circumstances) but I haven't seen many plugs open up.

I had/have a (what seems like) a bad misfire and changed the plugs, I think they are gapped to something like 0.38 or something really small like that to see what difference it would make. Well it still misfires at low revs (I suppose it's harder to tell at higher revs) and I am starting to suspect the IAC or something like that.
Looked at my plugs and they show no sign of fouling although I was under the impression that the stronger spark would blow the crap off the terminals and fouling would happen on a bigger gap although I may be getting confused

I suspect that my un-tuned FPR is causing the biggest problems ATM though
